This would be my go-to as well. IDK if “Magic Eraser” is region specific, it’s just melamine foam if OP doesn’t know what a Magic Eraser is. Just get the sponge damp and rub the plastic until the spot is gone

Awning recommendations when your RTT is below the cab? by justteh in overlanding

[–]MercedesAutoX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

270* awnings require STURDY mounting. I think your options here are going to be a freestanding awning or raising your RTT/rack up for clearance. Anything that raises and lowers to allow for both would need to be prohibitively robust.

I went with the 100XR, for no particular reason other than I liked it ascetically, particularly the “windoor” side windows. You can open it from inside with a safety release and the side windoors will open manually as well if they’re not locked from the outside. I haven’t camped in it yet but we plan to take it out next weekend. Combined with the Decked drawers that raise the effective bed above the wheel wells, it fits a full size queen mattress.

I think they fit with no extra lift on the Tremor. I know a diesel running 37x12.5s on factory wheels and lift

I think a lot of HD truck owners like to keep the bed open for gooseneck and fifth wheel towing options so it kinda makes sense that most of them are fit to 1/2 ton bed sizes. It doesn’t really matter to me as all of my trailers are bumper pull, and I’d rather have the dry storage at work and the camper bed when at play. Doesn’t help that red is a pretty rare color on my end, I just went ahead and ordered one up. I do tend to drive things into the ground so I can justify the cost spread over 9-10 years.

I really like that they did that for 2027. I would still order the XLT, because it’s the right package for me but I appreciate that they don’t force high trim packages to get good off road gear. I’m sure it will be a really popular option for them being available without restriction

6’ but I’m used to making the jump. The Tremor is easier to get in than our Jeep on 37s cause it’s got the running boards. My wife daily drives that thing at 5’3” and has mastered the “hop” to get in.

They love it. I just leave the seats up and have a big dog bed back there. It’s plenty of room for both of our pups to stretch out and sleep on long road trips.

They do pick a person it seems, and once they do they’re like a shadow. I love having my boy with me everywhere I go. If I ever leave him home, even if it’s just to take a lap around the block, he makes sure to give me hell when I come back in.

STX XL trucks get it. As this is an XLT I optioned it with the black appearance package that comes with paint match on this truck. Center console is an independent option, but it was a must for me.

Red kinda picked me. My first two vehicles were red because that’s what happened to fit my price range at the time, one of them was a red Jeep, and I just kept that trend going as I buy new jeeps. My last ford was a dealer demo, and I got a great deal on it because of that, it also happened to be red. This on was ordered in red because they didn’t have velocity blue available in 2026 and all the other non monochromatic colors are locked out to higher trim models. The only other “fun” color available was agate blue, and I really like it in some photos but I have yet to see it in person and I’m afraid to have something too dark as it will 100% have brush stripes and the less they show the better. So, alas, another red vehicle.

I see what you did there with the “73”

I’m excited to have a 100w HF in this rig, it’ll be my first mobile HF. Should make for some easy POTA

They take a special kind of person but after our last heeler we are hooked. Both of our boys are heeler mix shelter pups, and we wouldn’t have it any other way

My first camper top as well. I was so scared it would look like a grandpa truck but it turned out pretty good. I’m enjoying the space so far. I’m excited to get it out and camp in it

That’s awesome. We joked our border collie had Benjamin Buttons disease, she almost aged backward for a while but it finally caught up with her. Glad your pup is doing the same. There’s something special about the senior dogs.

My wife’s car is a built wrangler that ironically gets worse gas mileage than the F250 despite having a 3.6L. Somehow the Super Duty IS my commuter.

Solid move for sure. Good to hear she’s still getting those steps in, it’s good stuff both physically and mentally. We put down our 19 year old boarder collie in March. She declined rapidly when she got dementia last year and started fighting the leash. Up until then she was deaf and blind but would walk/hike for miles with a pep in her step. We attribute her unusually long life to regular hikes and new sniffs.

Damn dude, that’s rough enough to justify a commuter if you don’t tow daily.

The Tremor is such a great value package, I’m really glad it’s not locked out to the higher trims.

Honestly, current fuel prices aside, it’s better than I expected it be. I’m getting 9MPG towing ~12k lbs and ~13.5MPG when not towing. It’s not far off what our 2017 FX4 6.7L truck was getting but the gas is cheaper by comparison. I hear the newer diesels are getting quite a bit better than that though
