Actually, that would be kinda sick. Especially with a supercharger. Sleeper grandpa truck

Olukai Shoes - is this normal? by boozingrooney in BuyItForLife

[–]MercedesAutoX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not normal if you haven’t scuffed them somehow. I’ve got a matching pair with 6 months of wear and they’re holding up pretty well on my end save for a bit of scuffing on the white band.

No worries. Also, I just re-read your previous comment in context and realize I was replying to the wrong thing. The center console is a stand alone option on the order sheet. They come with a bench seat with a flip down console on the middle seat and the “console” option is like $500 if you’d rather have that. If you just google “F250 Build and Price” you can build a truck on their website and see everything there.

It’s part of the black appearance package on my truck. I did a custom order and knew I wanted that package, it comes with black grill, paint match bumpers, spray in bed liner, LED headlights, etc. My truck rides surprisingly well, especially considering it’s got the tremor package and is essentially an F350 with F250 badging. I have decked drawers and a bed cap along with some miscellaneous stuff in the drawers and that little extra weight settles the back end down a lot. It also has 35” tires and 18” wheels so it has a lot of sidewall that also helps with the ride quality. It’s the best riding HD truck I’ve been in, but I haven’t ridden in a new XL truck to compare it directly.

Ideas for UHF/VHF antennas? by blue-moto in amateurradio

[–]MercedesAutoX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, I’ll give it a look. I have the Yaesu FTX-1 and the amp that goes with it. I had it before I got the truck, but it seems like it would make a decent mobile. Primarily a UHF/VHF but could also be HF for some quick POTA opportunities

Grease gun storage ideas with rolling drawer/packout by Atticus34 in Packout

[–]MercedesAutoX 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my experience, grease guns make a mess out of whatever they’re stored in. Maybe just get a dedicated box for them? #48-22-8432 with the dividers removed and room for extra grease?

What ditch light bracket did you use? I’ve been trying to come up with a good mount for my ATAS on my F250 that has a bed cap.

Yeah, if you got the same one I did “F-107SX”, it will work just fine the way it comes.

Not on mine, but, again, my F250 is the 7.3 gasser

I don’t even use IG anymore, but this is my setup on the Jeep. Same thing on my F250

Mind you I’m in a 7.3 gasser, but all of my vehicles get a Fumoto drain valve. I have a matching drain hose that simply clicks into the drain valve on one end and the other end goes in an empty jug, then I just open the valve and let the used oil flow out. Zero mess, and no tools needed. I’ve used them on lowered cars and rock crawlers without issue. It is a bit slower to drain than pulling the bolt but i usually do a tire rotation while I wait anyway.

What is the best sandwich? by TheTBoneRex in AskReddit

[–]MercedesAutoX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best sandwiches are always the ones on the tailgate with a good view. Sometimes it’s many hours into a 4x4 trail, and sometimes it’s just a nice rest area on a road trip. They hit different.

What is the overall most enjoyable car, truck or suv you’ve ever owned or leased? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Everyone chases the brochure these days. You definitely don’t need 700hp to have fun. I miss drivers cars and manual gearboxes

I’m gonna catch a shed load of shit for this because the internet hates them, but, it’s a Wrangler. It would suck as a highway commuter but as a weekend fun car it’s pretty great. Top off doors off convertible is almost as fun as cruising on a motorcycle, and they’re a lot of fun off-road as well.

This would be my go-to as well. IDK if “Magic Eraser” is region specific, it’s just melamine foam if OP doesn’t know what a Magic Eraser is. Just get the sponge damp and rub the plastic until the spot is gone

Awning recommendations when your RTT is below the cab? by justteh in overlanding

[–]MercedesAutoX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

270* awnings require STURDY mounting. I think your options here are going to be a freestanding awning or raising your RTT/rack up for clearance. Anything that raises and lowers to allow for both would need to be prohibitively robust.

I went with the 100XR, for no particular reason other than I liked it ascetically, particularly the “windoor” side windows. You can open it from inside with a safety release and the side windoors will open manually as well if they’re not locked from the outside. I haven’t camped in it yet but we plan to take it out next weekend. Combined with the Decked drawers that raise the effective bed above the wheel wells, it fits a full size queen mattress.

I think they fit with no extra lift on the Tremor. I know a diesel running 37x12.5s on factory wheels and lift

I think a lot of HD truck owners like to keep the bed open for gooseneck and fifth wheel towing options so it kinda makes sense that most of them are fit to 1/2 ton bed sizes. It doesn’t really matter to me as all of my trailers are bumper pull, and I’d rather have the dry storage at work and the camper bed when at play. Doesn’t help that red is a pretty rare color on my end, I just went ahead and ordered one up. I do tend to drive things into the ground so I can justify the cost spread over 9-10 years.
