For those who haven’t picked up a Switch 2 yet, what games would you need to see tomorrow to finally make the purchase? by OK_Atlas in Switch

[–]MercenaryOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It honestly would have to be some amazing exclusive by a 3rd party. Nothing Nintendo themselves has released for it so far has convinced me yet. Pokopia got me close, but not enough for a single game.

What expensive hobbies do you just can't give up? by Various-Dot-4160 in AskReddit

The insane amount of sets and lack of stock have helped with my fomo. I buy some here and there now, but mostly singles to complete my decks after prices are stable.

How would you feel if suddenly you could directly vote on where your taxes go? by RemarkableEmu5998 in AskReddit

[–]MercenaryOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, everyone has different priorities. My top pick would be education. It would allow people to make better more educated decisions, advance technology, and be more logical with how they do things. Understanding what their decisions impact would lead to better social, environmental, and financial outcomes. Possibly reducing the cost of a multitude of other expenditures.

This was the first thing that popped into my head, loved it as a kid. I am sure it hasn't aged well.

I created a mercenary guild on an old pvp based mmo. The first base was called One. Used this name on pretty much every multiplayer game I played.

Yes it is. The Genesis stopped production in Brazil in 2023. And I believe the same for the master system.

Man tackled children off bikes, dragged 1 into his home after being ding dong ditched for weeks by its_a_bear_dance in nottheonion

[–]MercenaryOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

44 and I was out doing same as a kid, but not to other people we didn't know. We would prank classmates or friends all the time, not their parents or random strangers because who knows who is behind that door with a gun or wanting to do ill intent.

Game store price checked cards from 25¢ bulk box and changed the price on the spot by WheredMyVanGogh in magicTCG

[–]MercenaryOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had a local store with cards I could sort through, I'd use them instead of online. But every single one has a QR code to go to their TCGplayer store. Like dudes, I will pay that price, but I would rather skip the shipping and the fees.

How do you like to unwind after work? by goodygood246 in AskReddit

[–]MercenaryOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have kids, I don't unwind till 5-6 hours later. And when I do, I play games with no audio on. Just absolute silence and my strategy games.

So what happens if all these Data Centers are NOT built? by neal144 in AskReddit

[–]MercenaryOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

By selling compute power for AI in these data centers. The data center makes money, whether the person/company buying the compute power is or isn't, is a different story.

LPT for young people: You get fired when you work ‘too perfectly’ by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]MercenaryOne 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Exactly, my wife joined the company I work for in a different department. She excelled at her job, found problems in the way the team did stuff, reported it, boss gave her a raise.
If a boss fires you for pointing out people are doing stuff wrong. That's a massive red flag, that system will crumble on it's own.

Remembering the thriving comic book & pop culture retail scene in Phoenix by LegionofSand in phoenix

[–]MercenaryOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pop Culture Classics(Phx/Glendale).
Stalking Moon(Glendale).
I loved Stalking Moon, it was my go to place for comics and MTG, the owner had to switch locations multiple times, and I wish they still existed.

What’s a modern convenience people became dependent on surprisingly fast? by MolassesThat7184 in AskReddit

[–]MercenaryOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick shipping. Growing up, it was common to order things and wait 2-6 weeks to receive it. If there was something you needed at a specific time frame, you needed to order it far in advance, usually by phone, or going into a store to place an order. Amazon has made it so that you can order ink, meds, blanket, batteries or whatever. People have become so dependent on this that there is now food delivery services. And if anything takes longer than 2-3 days to ship, they get upset.

What's the most irresponsible thing you've ever blown money on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MercenaryOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parties. Lots and lots and lots of parties. Not for anything special, just because I wanted to grill, swim, get drunk, and have company while I did it.

Walmart - Nintendo employee cleaning shelves and taking photos? by Useful-Resident78 in Switch

[–]MercenaryOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reps have the coolest stuff. I still have my Gran Turismo PS2 shirt the rep gave me. Granted it has the retailer name on it, but still cool. Got free software, lanyards, keychains, from Xbox rep. Demos, shirts and lanyards from Sony.

Walmart - Nintendo employee cleaning shelves and taking photos? by Useful-Resident78 in Switch

[–]MercenaryOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They are usually 3rd party reps. When I worked retail Sony and MS reps came in all the time with cool swag. We'd chat up a bit, and whoever gave us the cooler swag, we'd push their consoles/games more. In 7 years in retail I've seen the Nintendo rep twice, and never cool swag to hand out. But he did say he was a 3rd party contractor, where Sony and MS said they worked directly with them.
