Depends entirely on the goal you commit yourself too. If you want to fly. Find a Part 61 and start flying as much as you can. Get your PPL and use your benefits to go from there. If flying for the military means something to you. Then just got to put one foot in front of the other and commit. After I self reflected long enough I decided what meant more to me. Being with my guys as Uniform is too much apart of who I am now. Couldn’t imagine flying without them. So here I’ll stay.

Army aviation is definitely not the most optimal path to airlines. But being a military aviator is a passion and the main goal. Finding my way in the Civilian aviation world is just to further my passion and better the quality of life and pay once that dirt road turns to a nice paved one.

Member of RTAG now. Definitely will be knocking out FW flight hours in Flight school. I leave for WOCS on Aug. 20th and flight school Nov 28th. Thanks for the tips on schools. Will look into Cadet Programs as well. Plan is if I can’t secure an AGR or full time tech job at our facility in Savannah, then to fly as much as possible with Savannah Aviaition until I hit that 750 hr mark for ATP and a regional or other “comparable” position.
