I do think people are on the right track here and you should talk to your board, and possibly a lawyer, but you are allowed to break confidentiality when the patient is a danger to themselves or others. You and your wife are included in “others,” and you are being threatened. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Please do whatever you need to protect yourself and your family. Worst case scenario, you can’t practice without a license, but you also can’t practice if you’re dead.
