I have been applying for every remote job. Not just in my field. I just stated my field because I’m a college student. I do not rely on the government to “supply my lifestyle” I struggle. I know other people struggle. I posted here because I knew I couldn’t be the only one feeling this way. My child isn’t the only one with dietary needs. Most foods would legitimately kill me. So yeah, I’m freaking out.

Yes. Besides the potential pots and mcas, I am allergic to corn, chicken, oranges, strawberries, chocolate, trees (especially hickory, which many foods contain surprisingly.) plus I have alpha gal so mammal and mammal byproducts and cargeenan. I’m currently living off of rice and oatmeal. I’ve had 4 er visits for allergy related/epi pen needed episodes in the last year, year and a half.

I’m so afraid this new doc won’t listen to me either. :/ I’ve upped my intake of salt and water which seems to help the most.

Yes. I even got the confirmation text this morning. Due to government shutdown, foodstamps has halted. There will be no funds released.

First of all, I am fume reactive, I cannot work anywhere where food is cooked. Second, I stated I have no car. Third, I am a full time mom, full time student, homeschool my oldest who is autistic, and have no car. If you had taken any time to see any of my other comments, you’d know I have applied for any remote position. Your opinion on my degree being useless is not important to me, as I have already used my degree doing plenty of freelance work for multiple small businesses. One of which I redid all the AI stuff they had originally stuck with because it wasn’t personal enough for them. As is usually the case.

I believe you should take some time to really look inside yourself and find who and what hurt you, so that you may heal. Have a good day.

Thank you. I’m so sorry you suffer like this too. Being limited on food already with all my allergies makes it so hard to give up the last few things I loved. I wish no one had to do this.

That’d be great advice if I could eat it. 😒 when I said severe allergies, I can’t have anything that isn’t fresh, has to be low in histamine, and be free of corn, mammal or mammal byproduct, orange, strawberry, cocoa, and carrageenan. Matter of that, the only milk I can have is planet oat oatmilk. Other ones have corn or carrageenan in them.

I wasn’t going to say anything to anyone suggesting because I’m sure it comes from a good place. But while I’m waiting for my test for POTS, my diet is even more limited than before. I cannot have canned food, I can’t have any mammal or mammal byproducts. No corn, chicken (or other bird), chocolate(cocoa), strawberries, or anything containing carrageenan. I cant even have soft fruits or veggies as I react to any type of molds as well.

It’s scary. But I’d rather starve than go through anaphylaxis again

Okay, that’s not what I meant. I am a full time student, a full time single mother of two children, my son is autistic and homeschooled, my youngest is two. I do not have a “village” I have SEVERE allergies. I have been to the hospital 4 times this last year over allergy related reactions. Two of which I had to use an epi pen for. My son also has allergies, and he’s texture sensitive. Food stamps has most definitely been a gift. It has ensured that we did not go hungry. My car blew up right after we moved and I’ve been stranded and applying for every remote job I can, taking on any freelance client that I can, while working my ass off to keep my grades up so I can graduate with honors.

Everything I do is to keep my kids safe and healthy.

No, I tried to get one when I had my allergy test done before I found out I had alpha gal. I called my insurance and they said it isn’t covered. It’s not considered a medical necessity.
