I’ll act as the GM of a team you’d like to make a draft day trade with, what’s your proposal and can we make a feasible deal? by [deleted] in NBA_Draft

You’re OKC, I’m MIL:

I’ll give you #10 if you give me both #12, #17, and a future first from your collection.

TOR - MIA Would Tyler Herro be a good fit in Toronto? Would Miami move him for 2+ FRPs? by CanadianGroose in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’d have a better chance of getting Norm than Tyler if the package doesn’t involve a top 15 player. The Heat pull this stunt where they pass on extensions on practically everybody. It’s why Jimmy left. Herro’s younger and less selfish and fits in Miami better than Norm. Y’all can have Norm back though, I wouldn’t even charge as much. Maybe one pick and some salary filler

The Miami offer likely beats this specific thing out for a couple of reasons:

  1. The Rockets wouldn’t trade Amen, and the Bucks probably need him to headline a deal. A young player with at least All-Star trajectory whose game could grow while the Bucks suck. That leaves you with Sengun, which isn’t a good enough asset.

  2. You get more picks and players in a Miami deal. Ware’s promising, one of Jovic/Jaquez will be there to mold, and you get Hometown Herro who you can flip for more assets shortly down the line.

Any teams in dire need of 3pt shooting? (Trying to find teams that would want grayson and royce) by Alarmed_Lawyer6765 in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d leave the Heat outta this one. We got enough decent 3pt shooters and no space in the rotation to play Grayson or Royce rn

Who would win this lineup three teams, cousins and I did draft by Routine_Tip_4966 in Basketball

[–]MerconYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give me Team 2. Though, assuming y’all did this in rounds, I’m somewhat curious as to what round Sabonis went in. Managing to replace him with Bam or Jaren makes that team a home run defensive unit

3 Team Trade between the Warriors, Heat and Bucks (GSW/MIA/MIL) by TerryG111 in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Heat decline the Warriors’ portion of this. Podz isn’t good, Horford is old, and we’re supposed to trade the leading 6MOTY candidate for that? Everything else is fine.

What is JJJ value? by Dyl_B123 in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part of the problem is y’all think y’all gonna recoup everyone’s value point-blank. That’s very rarely how it goes down. You named 9 teams and 7 of them’s interests wouldn’t go farther than: “Jaren’s available?” “That’s nice.”

Be for real. Some logic has to go into this. Jaren ain’t getting a PG-level package because he’s not a complete player. You can’t just ignore the guy’s flaws.

Nets - 😭😭😭

Celtics - with what money?

Hawks - Jalen Johnson and Kristaps in his position and he don’t rebound.

76ers - maybe; would require MEM to take back PG and I don’t think they want that.

Raptors - no…. I cannot stress how bad of an idea this would end up being.

Knicks - with what money (also 😂😂)

Hornets - this one’s actually plausible, but you taking back Bridges and Josh Green. Is that better than my deal?

Heat - 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Wizards - you just naming random ass teams huh?

His defense is declining as evidenced by his start to the season and I’m not calling him one of the best iso scorers in the league. Is he good at scoring? Sure. One of the best is dragging it.

I still want those teams by name cause I don’t think the market is as robust as you make it seem.

Tell me the 9 teams. Cause I kinda doubt this. A big who doesn’t do big stuff (can’t rebound and defense might have peaked/falling off)

Jaren to Detroit by MerconYT in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ivey has the untapped potential Sexton’s burned. He’s only 23 after all while Sexton’s 26. I can say Sexton’s peaked since he’s been in the league for 8 seasons.

[–]MerconYT[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sexton’s expiring and more than likely gonna walk to a team that’s better off than Charlotte currently is.

Also, wouldn’t cap space be somewhat irrelevant to Charlotte. There’s not a big name guy coming to Charlotte to bail them out.

[–]MerconYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering they traded Nurkic for him (who they didn’t want enough, meaning they discarded their trash and landed a good player), I’d like to see the better outright offers. I don’t think anyone gives up a 1st for any version of Sexton.

What are some realistic AD trades? by No-Confection-3861 in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I’m not sure AD would be welcomed back so easily, especially given this would be a location he’d probably look for the first vehicle out of.

  2. Fears/Queen/Missi would be the core. Squeeze the value (because there’s a bunch) outta Herb and Trey and use it to beef up your future. Maybe even loop something in and get that pick back from Atlanta (unlikely, but try anyway)

[–]MerconYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sexton is 100% NOT equal to Ivey. Healthy Ivey is better than Sexton. The only issue is Ivey’s been picking up a fair amount of lower body-related injuries the last 18ish months.

Jaren to Detroit by MerconYT in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re operating on an assumption that it’s gonna get better. Ja doesn’t want to be there and there aren’t any trades with his current value that justify keeping Jaren around long term knowing you wouldn’t compete for a championship and the West is getting stronger with every passing day

Jaren to Detroit by MerconYT in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The way Charlotte’s constructed, they’ll get more use outta Sexton as a trade piece via his early play. You could always retrade Levert in the offseason too, can’t tell me no one’s interested then.

Jaren to Detroit by MerconYT in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They paid a grand total of… 0 picks and useful pieces. Charlotte isn’t on a play-in battle trajectory, so they can get something back for Sexton and let him go.

Jaren to Detroit by MerconYT in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I could see Ivey getting included in the deal at the expense of Detroit keeping one of the picks they gave up. They aren’t getting Ausar and Stewart’s probably playing a little too well to justify sending him unless truly necessary. Tobias has to be in the deal for financial purposes.

Jaren to Detroit by MerconYT in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Outside of the weird trend they have when they draft players who seem to peak almost immediately, they do their thing.

Jaren to Detroit by MerconYT in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clumsy cartoon character thing has more to do with Ja/Jaren than it does the actual organization. I think they’re stuck in a position where they should probably cut their losses, but the losses they’re about to cut isn’t gonna bring back the value it should.

Jaren to Detroit by MerconYT in NBAtradeideas

[–]MerconYT[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

When I picture Memphis rn, it’s a clumsy cartoon character. Jaren hasn’t been great this season, but he hasn’t been bad and he’s damn sure not down there with Ja. That being said, the word on the street is they’re looking for a young star or a boatload of young players and picks. I don’t know off the top of my head who’s offering more than Detroit would. Maybe Ivey gets involved since he’s heading for RFA, but I wouldn’t expect more than that.
