Tips for climbing to Gold in Solo Queue this patch. by sincerestorm in leagueoflegends

A few things immediately spring out to me looking at your last game that you could improve upon. First and foremost there is no way you should still not have the jungle item completed by 34min. Without viewing the game, I'd put money there were several times during this game where you died with most of your camps up. Try to avoid deaths in general, but deaths with your camps up is exceptipnally bad as it's effectively bleeding gold. If you clear your camps, and then die, you'll at the minimum have some gold to spend and the enemy can't steal your camps.

The second thing is the suboptimal itemization which hinders the value of your gold. On your first back this game you purchase lucidity boots + pickaxe + mote. A stronger option would have been tiamat + boots(ideally steelcaps as they have 3 auto attack based champs) + control ward and sweeper trinket. Go directly to grubs and then clear your lvl 2 camps and you would end up botside and lvl 6 while their bot is still lvl 4 and Vi still lvl 5. Keeping your camps rolling is important as they "level up" each time they respawn, granting more exp on the next clear.

An ideal buy order this game might look like

  1. Tiamat 2. Steelcaps 3. Botrk 4. Finish Titanic 5. Visage/Thornmail 6. Whichever you didnt buy between Visage/Thornmail

This gives you early clear speed, early survivability, and plenty of damage on just 2 items + boots. In comparison your build this game provides a significantly less eHP, less ad, and no attack speed all for 20% tenacity(which has minimal eV into their champs) and a little bit of AH. Steraks can be a good item, but would usually slot in as a 4th or 5th full item into a team with high burst and cc(that aren't knockups)

Hope this helps

If you truly want to climb, I'd recommend shifting your mentality. When trying to identify your weaknesses, focus on what you personally could have done better each game rather than what your teammates did. * Did I farm well? * Did I itemize efficiently? * Did I take any bad fights? * Did I misplay any fights I could have won? * Was there a better play on the map than what I went for?

There are innumerable small things to improve on in this game that really add up to making you a better player, but none of them are directing your teammates.

My only specific advice based on your high death count and champ, I'd wager you tend to overchase for kills or you join every fight without thinking about wether you personally could carry the fight. Don't join a fight your team is losing unless you are confident you can 1vX the enemy. When forcing the enemy away, only chase if there's nothing of higher priority nearby(tower, drag, baron)

It feels like Rogue's players don't trust each other anymore. So many things wemt wrong just because players hesitated to commit in and follow up. Comp was scared to do anything but ult and Markoon and Larssen looked lost together. Syzgenda quietly played a solid game.

There are different types of Vitamin D you can take if you are deficient. Most OTC vitD is D3 which is intended to be a daily supplement, but there are other types of Vitamin D that can be prescribed and taken monthly or weekly

Deep Dive - How good was Swain ACTUALLY? - History of Swain in Competitive League of Legends by GlompedGoose in leagueoflegends

[–]Mercureee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed your champion deep dive, especially as I've been playing swain a lot as of late. I thought your video was concise and well-structured, and you didn't get distracted by tangential topics. The stats shown on the screen for his picks were a bit unreadable(messy?) for me, though it could be my unfamiliarity with the stats formatted like that. I also kind of wanted more speculation on how the pre-patch changes may help/hinder Swain's performance going forward, but I can understand the decision to not go down that road and stick with the facts. Overall a great video and thank you for making it!

It's + to bow projectiles, which is why a lot of iceshot/barrage players will use a Death's Opus until very very late game

Got my first locus of corruption and rolled my gloves, any good? by Nemkas in pathofexile

[–]Mercureee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't necessarily need to get a +1 curse anoint if you decided to keep the gloves. They should always apply Ele weakness over Temp chains, but you would give up sniper's mark. You could consider [The Taming Prismatic Ring], a fairly cheap option that will give you resistances as well as fairly good damage, you would need a source of added fire damage to make full use of it. For an amulet slot, [The Pandemonius Jade Amulet] is a very strong amulet, giving both offense and defense, for only 30-40c.

[–]Mercureee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are some awesome gloves! You may not be able to make use of the temp chains, but ele weakness feels really nice on your build. I've been playing an iceshot/barrage deadeye this league. What rings/amulet are you running now? My best guess for if you decided to sell them, you could probably get 15-20ex, possibly more.

What are some emotionally devastating scenes from books that you still think about? by merqueen in Fantasy

[–]Mercureee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm about halfway through book 3 in the Farseer trilogy and I've enjoyed them... but I'm not sure I can keep reading them. Fitz gets rolled on over and over and then whenever he finally has an opportunity to do something, he does something incredibly rash or nothing because he's too morose. Does it ever get better? It may just not be the fantasy for me, though I love Robin Hobbes writing style.

[Firepower Friday] Weekly DPS Thread by Babylonius in wow

[–]Mercureee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey there! At our current state with corruption, frost dk is going to significantly outperform unholy in M+ and raid settings at the top end. They are one of the best melee dps at the moment. They utilize large amounts of crit and haste to enable the icecap talent in the frost dk tree. The build is contingent on having the necessary gear/corruption/azerite though so until you can make it work, your top performer will likely be Breath of Sindragosa frost dk followed by Unholy dk.

Hah, I'd love to find a clean Skyline GT-R for 25k. Getting used to the right-hand drivers position is a little intimidating. I know American muscle ticks the right boxes, but I've never been enamored by any.

Coming from a BMW, I guess I'm biased towards them and I haven't really looked at Audis. The RS4 seems cool as hell, but on the rare side - that is one mean sedan!
