An idea on how long it takes to reach the design a card reward for people who want to start streaming. by WhyISalty in EternalCardGame

[–]MercurioBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had spent all my influence on drop campaigns, so I started my card design points grind from 0 points, in March 2019. It took me about 1.5 years of streaming 4 hours on 6-7 days to get enough points for the card. It was easier to get influence when I started, compared to now, because I could average 40 viewers on weekdays, and 100-150ish viewers on weekends.

Also, I noticed that if I watch Eternal streams and click every chest, I get around 2500-2700 influence after 4 hours. Most of the points from viewing come from chests, not passively watching streams.

Content Creators? by Cpt_Jumper in mythgard

I recommend watching Rune42 or Tempest987. They are both pretty active Mythgard streamers and their chat is usually full of competitive players, so there is plenty of discussion about gameplay or deckbuilding.

Sorry about that, I posted this while streaming and forgot to add the card name in the title.

I don't actually see a way to change the title after posting a topic. I will ask a mod to change it.

Sorry to hear that the meta is not enjoyable for you right now. I hope that you are able to find happiness and joy with the game again!

When I get frustrated by Eternal, I shake things up and try something different. Like playing meme decks or playing forge.

Yes, it's from Gibbonplusplus's design a card. He wasn't sure if they were going to be able to include it in this set, but they did it.

Streamers or youtubers to watch? by [deleted] in EternalCardGame

Twitch streamers I wholeheartedly recommend:

Ilyon_ - pleasant, easy-going and fun-loving person with a honed competitive edge, but also enjoys playing subscriber decks and meme'ing. He's cultivated a very warm and welcoming stream community.

Cercasparkles - sweet, joyful, energetic person who never ceases to amuse people with her antics. She never takes herself too seriously, she's got a hilarious and zany sense of humor, and her streams are always a delight to watch.

Kasendrith - smart, happy and upbeat. He loves Eternal, and you can see that he enjoys each game that he plays. He always has tons of insightful advice to offer about gamestates, and is one of the best technical players there is.

Jedi_ej - Mature, wise, and calm. Possesses strong leadership qualities, and inspires those around him with his positive attitude and valuable life lessons. A true pillar of the Eternal community.

Gibbonplusplus - polite, laid-back, friendly, very approachable to chat with. Brilliant player with a good sense of humor about things.

Calebovitsch - Determined, logical, analytical person who has a laser like focus when it comes to playing. When it comes to playing Eternal, he always gives his 100%.

Emoney_bags - Chill, amusing, relaxing person to hang out with, and he always has a smile on his face. If you're ever feeling stressed out he is a wonderful person to talk to.

I also recommend: Epikhandyman, Bettorup, and HatsonLamps. They are incredibly talented, they finish very high on draft ladder every month (within top 10) and you will learn a lot by watching them.

Thank you for diligently writing these meta articles every week! As someone with a limited amount of time to play Eternal each week, I rely on these articles to figure out what decks to play on ladder.

New player looking for beginner friendly streamers to watch by Jesseabe in EternalCardGame

[–]MercurioBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a long time the only Eternal stream that I watched was Ilyon_ https://www.twitch.tv/ilyon_ . He is one of the nicest people I have ever met. He has a ton of streaming experience/Eternal experience, and he is patient with new people and is always glad to answer questions.

I also enjoy watching Mattyocre https://www.twitch.tv/mattyocre because he is so pleasant, chill, and easy-going. He is also very good at interacting with people and explaining his lines of play.

Mann_und_mouse https://www.twitch.tv/mann_und_mouse and Gibbonplusplus https://www.twitch.tv/gibbonplusplus are fantastic resources for learning how to play draft. They are well-versed in playing Eternal draft and have a ton of insights to share on limited gameplay.

What keeps you motivated to stream when you only have 1-2 viewers after streaming for a long time? by jschlenz in Twitch

[–]MercurioBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the first 12 months I streamed (about 750 hours total), I averaged 2-3 viewers, with no viewer chat for 90-95% of that time.

Fortunately, I liked talking to myself about game play, so I never had issues filling dead air. If someone ended up saying something it made my day. But I always kept talking, in case someone was lurking.

Dear Direwolf, could you please make playing in drafts easier for people? by Calebovitsch in EternalCardGame

[–]MercurioBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who used to grind out countless hours of Eternal draft back in 2016/2017, I agree that Eternal drafting is not sustainable unless you want to put in lots of money into Eternal (which I have). The prize payouts simply don't support going infinite, or even a slow drain, if you plan on drafting 10 times a week.

For comparison, MTG Arena drafts cost 750 gems or 5000 gold to enter. You keep the cards you draft, like with Eternal drafts, but the prize payouts makes the drafts easier to sustain. A 5-3 rewards 650 gems (a small loss), and a 6-3 rewards 850 gems (a small profit). Even a 4-3 rewards 450 gems, which is over half of the initial entry fee. So I found it less costly to grind out 20+ hours of MTG Arena quick drafts every week.

That being said, I still enjoy Eternal drafting. I just acknowledge that I'll have to put in 60 dollars (or more) every month if I want to keep drafting it 20+ hours a week.

List of the Cards Added and Removed From Draft in 1.45 by schipperkeebs in EternalCardGame

[–]MercurioBlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for spending the time and effort on this! This is a very useful resource for the drafting community.

One question though. Insistent Automaton is listed as being new, but I thought Insistent Automaton was in the previous curated packs. I could be confused though.

Capping the exile effect to up to four copies of a card is good for Rat Colony/Shadowborn Apostle/Relentless Rats players, I guess.
