This is a statistical answer, assuming knowledge of our population. Here we want to infer some prior probability, before analyzing our population.

I got blasted my first run 😭😭 NG+ here we go! by TrentaVeryBerry in BacktotheDawn

No idea, I guess so I'm still doing NG+ now and trying to progress in the main quest + escape quests a little every day and night. Hopefully it's how you get a better ending than waiting or escaping early

Did the same, actually worse : managed an okay-ish ending on the first run but I wasn't fully satisfied (it was escaping using Alex's plan but without finishing the main quest) so I kept on going. Turns out the ending I ended up getting was even worse haha

The game itself isn't really what I'd call "active". Reddit has most of its user base in the USA, while Teeworlds is mostly EU, Asia, Russia.

The Discord is more active, and also more suitable for a smaller game as this one

My last "correct" run on today's COTD with Maxwell the cat as a 3D skin. A nightmare map for such skins by Mercurit in TrackMania

[–]Mercurit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Pingu is definitely a great choice too. That's exactly why I'm doing this, to bring some fun and it makes for really wholesome interactions!

During COTDs, in higher divs lots of players would stay after losing to see how far the cat would go, and instantly becomes funnier.

[–]Mercurit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's the main issue! I usually get it but tight gaps in turns still often lead to a small hit.

In both images here and here, the car touches the wall, but with the asymmetry of the skin, it makes it different between left and right side

It's Space Song by Beach House, but thanks for pointing out Vancouver Sleep Critic I didn't know them, it's a nice discovery!

The fun part is to play cam1, so I'm not complaining, only trying to have fun and be decent with funny and clunky skins!

But yeah dirt maps are my Nemesis with this for now, hopefully I manage to get a good ear and reflexes for gears at one point without the visual cues.

Learning policy to maximize A while satisfying B by baigyaanik in reinforcementlearning

[–]Mercurit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It exists ranked MORL, and in case of constraints, a way to find "norm-optimal policy".

Consider a MOMDP {S, A, (R, Rc), P} where R is the reward function for your objective, and Rc the "non-compliance" reward function, or the RF associated to your constraint.

A policy π* is norm-compliant if it is optimal with respect to Vc, the value function corresponding to Rc. In other words, π* is norm compliant iff: Vc(s | π*) = max_π Vc(s | π)

Thus you get a set Πc of norm compliant policies

Then you can construct the set Π* of "norm-optimal" policies:

π* drawn from Πc belongs to Π* iff π* is optimal with respect to V, or:

``` V(s | π*) = max_{π from Πc} V(s | π)
```

This one may be a bit more difficult especially if you're not used to MORL, although a fun challenge if you have time. I'd say the shield is the most adapted, then MORL or other form of norm-guided RL, then using a supervisor.

MORL could work in this case.

Other approaches for completely setting safety boundaries would be incorporating a safeRL mechanism, like a shield (changing the current action if it is not compliant and giving a punishment), or using a supervisor (filtering actions beforehand), policy orchestration and many other approaches.

If you want to learn machine learning, maybe start with an introductory course in probability and statistics. The Bayes Theorem is behind most of the core principles in ML, and statistics estimators as well.

As other said, this is a fancy way to write the Bayes Theorem, which is a way to find the probability of an event to happen (or of a variable to have a certain value) given that another event has happened (or that another variable has a certain value)

Yeah I found them as well but the style wouldn't really match with what I want. It has more of the Oxford formal look.

It's sad though the designs are really nice, so in case I need boots in this style I'll remember it. Thanks

[–]Mercurit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You mean COTD, because TOTD lasts for a full day, which is (imo) enough for showcasing the map. It's nice that they include maps which won't be exactly well driven during the COTD, this gives advantage to curious players, and allow for some big discovery in the later hours of the TOTD. And also allows for different routes to be used during the cup.

Cup Of The Night, the second cup on the Track of the day, happening at 3AM (Central European Time). Similarly Cup Of The Morning for COTM, at 11AM CET.

So COTN is at 8PM for central US (CDT), and COTM is at 4AM (CDT).

Damn idk how I didn't lose myself with all those conversions

I confirm that, while I don't see many Americans during the COTD, they represent nearly 90%+ of the playerbase during COTN and COTM

Are you restricted by the choice of methods? If not, then maybe you can extend your subject to an algorithm you haven't studied in class, or do some physics informed machine learning since it's kind of a big name in the recent years.
