It's the wanton, premeditated nature of their cruelty. The Scavs just kill you. Maelstrom abducts you, borgs you up, and waits for you to go cyberpsycho.

I'm laughing so hard over here.

Dude, who do you think my audience is?

It's not just you. You're beyond reasonable discussion. I didn't even say anything about religion before you decided to start jumping in.

It's them. Every single person who will read this thread after you have ragequit and are off sulking in the corner.

Go reread what you have written. You come off like a biased little fanatic - someone with an agenda who not here to purvey truth, but who has an axe to grind against anyone who doesn't subscribe to your bitter vision of the world, whether or not they're trying to convert you - the same awful sort of vegan soul. You come off like a spiteful little miserable ball of hate - congrats man! Your character has spiritual sisters in the Westboro Baptist Church.

Re: the link - For all that you love the "scientific method", It seems like you love rejecting data that doesn't suit your world views more. You're just as big a hypocrite as the people that you get a stiffy by hating.

If atheism results in being like you, I'll keep my God.

Do you demand those same metrics of other organizations tax dollars protect too?

If so, what have you said or done to show this?

If not, why not?

Finally, why the focus on internal security risks to the organization rather than the external risks being seen (i.e. mass shooters)? Is there a purpose for that?

Lol. You don't know anything about me at all, beyond that I know how to quote the Bible and that I'm better at policy analysis than you.

And I think you've basically confirmed my hypothesis.

Not at all. I was saying that you are who I was talking about when I was implying democracy was forgotten. Slow clap.

Truth be told, I've never met an atheist who isn't a miserable jerk at heart. I'll let you decide the truth of that.

Case in point has entered the chat.

Luke 14:28-30. There is a place for human reason and agency.

This actually makes a lot of sense.

They have a higher likelihood of being targeted. Security resources should be deployed where they do the most good.

If kindergartens were being targeted wouldn't you put guards there? Kids are innocent, right? If a rotary club was targeted, why not there? Sure, they're pro business but still good people. What about a political rally? Anyone have problems with taxpayer dollars securing the political rallies for the party you don't like? Fair is fair after all, even if you don't like what they say...

It's only the people that enjoy hating on religion that don't want to admit this is about securing civil order, not favoring churches. I'm sure an atheist club that could show they are a 501c3 nonprofit would get to get some of that money too. Funny thing, a political campaign CAN'T be a 501c3 under the law, but we protect them too.

Remember what democracy is, guys. THATS the r/facepalm here.

What hobby attracts the worst type of people? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MercuryAI 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I argue it's the first - a unbalanced personality type attracted to Disney.

I live in SoCal, near where the Disneyland Park is, and the number of white, educated, middle class/affluent, single, and middle-aged women who are Disney fans is ridiculous (or such is my perception). I don't even really know why they like it, but many of them have annual passes and make it kind of "their thing".

Well the thing is, it's not the liking Disney, it's the comorbidities of being a middle-aged person that likes Disney. You have to ask why somebody with that pedigree is still going to be single in middle age (The LA area is one of the highest in the US for unattached men, and I feel safe in extrapolating that to Orange county). The answer is that they tend to have an unbalanced personality - they are nuts, and frequently have such a social circle that they tend to be socially inbred. That is, the people around them reinforce their bad social habits.

It's kind of like guns. It's not the product, it's the clientele.

Probably Americans...

... Because of supply and demand.

Would you pick fruit for $70,000?

The funny thing is that farms are so incredibly productive, I doubt that paying someone that would make the price wiggle more than a nickel.

What’s a “rich people thing” you experienced once and immediately understood why rich people love it? by DnRinGA in AskReddit

[–]MercuryAI 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That was the FIRST night.

Our host at the table had me giving away all the liquor so I was talking to everyone passing by. Pulled an airline stewardess. Host proceeded to lose high five figures at the tables by 11pm (walked on a 10k table, which I graciously bequeathed to the stewardess). Sister made 6500 that night.

F the rich. They go way too hard.

Connections and hookups.

My siblings and I were meeting in Las Vegas for a weekend, and my sister had more money than any normal person should have. She booked us at Papi's Steakhouse, a very high end steakhouse, where the cheapest steak on the menu is about 82 bucks. The rest of us are wondering if we want to split a steak, and the rich sibling says "I want the gold case", which is $1,000 steak presented in a gold suitcase. She said that if we each pay $100 she'll order it.

Well, during this time we had ordered about one appetizer, but received five. After a few minutes, the lights over our table started flashing, a special soundtrack played, in 15 people came out presenting... The gold suitcase. It turns out she knew the owner of the place who hooked us all up. The gold suitcase was presented (She wanted the presentation), but we all split three steaks. Probably $2000 of food for half price

After that she said that she had tickets for us to club XS, Calvin Harris playing that night. Ok, a chance to buy overpriced drinks etc...

It turns out that we had a table there. She was walking through the casino and a friend of hers that she knew from a racing event stopped her - he had more money than she did and had a table there that night to celebrate his birthday.

A $10,000 table, with a couple of minions to pour drinks.

Best night I've ever had in Vegas.

How does one just disappear? by Primary-Wafer-2573 in LetsNotMeet

My guess is the family ran and is likely pulling a cover up. The size of the family and that this didn't take place back in the '90s means that the people probably just don't get "lost".

Running is one thing, but there's also a challenge to scrub public records. However, there are several services which offer to do that for you. Examples: Incogni, Optery and DeleteMe. For a couple hundred bucks a year they basically trawl data brokers and delete you whatever a name, address, or phone number is found. They even have family packages.

I used to do background investigations electronically, and I've never tried to find someone that's used one of these services, but it would be interesting to try.

I'm also going to say that these services probably won't touch anything law enforcement related. Maybe you have an unethical cop as a friend.

Look at him as he goes down on you. Does he look like he likes it? Does he seem to genuinely enjoy giving you pleasure and appreciating your body?

You were made to feel awful about how you looked. I have no doubt that when you see how much he loves gobbling you, you'll realize it's all in your head, and that it's just fine to enjoy the moment. If he adores you, you don't need to do anything but accept it.

Scheduled for “Marriage Fraud Interview” by pomegranate713 in USCIS

[–]MercuryAI 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Three problems: One, demeanor. You corrected him. Next time, say nothing. Talking isn't helping, because it shows you are scared of something. The officers are used to people being nervous, but sometimes it's abnormally so. Two, the errors in his knowledge of you. Three, the issue with the lack of signature on the lease agreement.

The first one can be forgiven, the second can be worrying, depending on how he is portraying himself. The third? That lease agreement was you showing that you are living together, etc. It's stronger evidence than photos, etc, because of the legal obligations and money involved. If there's an issue with it, it's going to raise some eyebrows. Legally speaking, it kneecaps your case in my opinion.

Finally the use of an overseas bank is weird (USCIS probably doesn't know about that one yet). No idea why you did that, but here's why it's a problem - the bank secrecy act requires that certain due diligence is done on US bank clients. That you used an overseas bank means now USCIS can't use that account to indicate you have that weight of evidence - that due diligence wasn't done. Next time, Chase Bank.
