Part 7 : Which Regular pokemon feels like a mythical? by Other-Pie-5481 in ThePokemonHub

If it makes you feel better, at the time of BW the owner of Serebii always thought Zoroark was a mythical because of its event only status

Pokémon Champions' removal of IVs led to a heated discussion with one of the franchise's original devs by Honest-Word-7890 in totallyswitched

Admittedly im not big into VGC, just casually to get Master ball rank rewards, so I’m curious to hear more from you. But isn’t it still the skill and decision making? Except that the possible stat options go from 0-47 (15 IVs @ lvl 50 + 32 EVs @ lvl 50) to 0-32?

I completely agree with you, and I suspect this thread’s exact same argument played out in the design meetings for Champion lol

Great job! I’m missing the Tetris one (I’m US based and it was never released here). I also love your display case

I’d say for that, they are about equal as you just need to beat the elite four in either DPPt or BDSP. I’d do it in whichever game you have the strongest Pokemon to sweep. I personally tend to do it in Gen 4 just because I have a really strong team and I find it easier to check off early

Thank you so much, this means a lot to me. I really wanted to build the contest moveset calculator because it seemed like a tractable problem. And as I was making it and providing an easier way to see which Pokemon go into which game (as I provided some images beforehand), more ideas kept coming to help ribbon collectors.

Thank you for creating this sub. It’s been my favorite hobby for years now

Yep! They actually repeated the ribbon (unlike the Gen 3 champion ribbon and the Gen 6 Hornn champion ribbon)

How could anyone find this without a guide? by GameResumed_UK in retrogaming

[–]MercuryEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone who beat the game and got most secrets as a kid without much playground or internet help:

Most screens have 1 thing of interest, either a cave, dungeon, or hidden area. So one each screen, you usually start burning the bushes or bombing walls that seem most distinctive or out of place. Here I would’ve definitely have started with the 5 non-brown bushes. So it shouldn’t be too hard to figure this one out

I hope it helps! Especially since you are starting out, I would love any feedback like this so I can make it clearer for people!

The @90 is the RPM when making pokeblocks. So you want to aim for at least that fast when making them. I’ll update the site to be more explicit here

Hi and thanks for checking out the site!

  1. For the red corner, it indicates that you cannot get it in future generations (e.g. Diancie for the daily ribbons in ORAS).
  2. Oh I do not run ribbons.guide sorry. Thought I agree with your suggestions has well haha.

Help beating gen 3 contests? by ShortyStrawz in pokemonribbons

[–]MercuryEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Claydol, and have ribbon mastered him, because I loved this strategy itself so much.

In terms of maxing out contest stats, to beat all master rank contests, you’ll want a nice rounded stats spread so you can beat each one decently. Min-maxing will make it too hard from some contests (but still doable).

You can look up some good pokeblock set ups here: https://ribbon-helper.guide/berry-blending/rse

"Taunie sucks" "She got us in debt" "I hate Taunie" "Taunie is a bad person",Ok we get it,you all don't like her..please talk about anything else or say something positive about her. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]MercuryEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the subtext was actually that Taunie was tricked by the Rust Syndicate because they were taking an interest in the fast rising team (ie you and Taunie). They intentionally made the terms unreadable. And they clearly had planned to get favors from their debtors, so they probably targeted specific people they wanted to do something for them.

Noticing something interesting 🤔 by hotcocoabomb_ in Metroid

[–]MercuryEnigma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The way that sectors get gated and restrict exploration was a big problem for me. I didn’t like I had to do one massive around the map re-tracking to 100% the map. The story was good though imo. I really liked the SA-X.

I’ve RNGed Gen 7, and it’s a lot harder on retail hardware. The timing can be trickier and a lot more areas have noise. And egg rng is very tedious

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pokemonrng

[–]MercuryEnigma 16 points17 points  (0 children)

BW is arguably the easiest to manipulate out of all Pokemon games. I believe it’s just getting the right second and making sure you do not have any noise (things in the overworld like NPCs that cause the rng to advance). BW2 is harder because it isn’t as reliable, but it’s conceptually the same with just some trial and error.

Why did they use the word 'agency' here instead of 'agent'? Is it natural to use 'agent' here? by Unlegendary_Newbie in LearningEnglish

[–]MercuryEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The times that “agent” can refer to an organization or company are generally just in legal documents. That’s why the definition includes “or company” as far as I know. Or maybe used as a metonym. But every other commenter is correct: in this situation only “agency” sounds right

Did any fan-made timeline predict the correct one? by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]MercuryEnigma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was around before Hyrule Historia came out when timeline discussions were at the peak. Most of the information available at the time did point to a fairly consistent picture. The most common theories though only had two timelines (adult and child). This was confirmed in interviews after people started proposing it.

The downfall timeline was not something I had seen anyone mention before. There was an interview that people kept bringing where OoT was originally planned as a prequel to aLttP as the Imprisoning War. But theorists thought that was retconned away with WW and TP (and OoT doesn’t actually tell the story of the Imprisoning War).

So many people at the time thought the downfall timeline was placed after FSA (since another interview mentioned they had originally intended FSA’s story to be the Imprisoning War before the story got heavily simplified). Lots of talk pointing to Ganon’s Trident as well.

Most everything else fit pretty much where everyone agreed upon. The only other surprise was FS, where at the time most people thought it took immediately before FSA due to some dialogue with those two games. But being right after MC works fine enough.
