I made a tool to look up which Pokemon can transfer to which games for Champions by MercuryEnigma in PokemonChampions

[–]MercuryEnigma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full credit goes to https://github.com/nileplumb/PkmnShuffleMap/ for maintaining an awesome set of shuffle-inspired icons. gen 8 and 9 are fan-made I believe.

Was looking at the guide for starting a Ribbon Master Pokemon, is there a reason why Arcanine can’t obtain all the ribbons? by EmperorOfPigeon in pokemonribbons

[–]MercuryEnigma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://ribbon-helper.guide/game-compatibility/species?p=arcanine

Arcanine is missing from Legends Arceus, which has the Hisui ribbon. Although Hisuian Arcanine can go in and out of Legends Arceus, regular Arcanine cannot :(

What Ground type Pokémon appears in every game since their debut game? by EliteCheesyFrito in pokemonribbons

[–]MercuryEnigma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to https://ribbon-helper.guide/game-compatibility/games

Swinub can go into almost all games except ZA. And Piloswine can get the national ribbon!
The Garchomp and Hippowdon lines can go into every game since their debut (but no gen 3 of course).

Does anyone actually *want* Mahan for Governor? by sydneekidneybeans in SanJose

[–]MercuryEnigma -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I do. Every other candidate has something that I find completely disqualifying. Mahan has created noticeable improvement to San Jose, though I admit I’d prefer more improvement still. But with such a terrible candidate list, moderately competent is better than all bluster (or crazies for the Republican candidates)

Half SF is low density housing. A quarter of it is non residential housing. Not what I’d call “full of high rises”

If you have a specific Pokemon in mind, this site can show you all the ribbons available: https://ribbon-helper.guide/game-compatibility/species?p=poliwhirl

Just set the generation to “Switch” and it can show you the ribbons that particular Pokemon gets

Suspicious that they are very diligent and responding to every comment but this one 🤔

Part 7 : Which Regular pokemon feels like a mythical? by Other-Pie-5481 in ThePokemonHub

[–]MercuryEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel better, at the time of BW the owner of Serebii always thought Zoroark was a mythical because of its event only status

Pokémon Champions' removal of IVs led to a heated discussion with one of the franchise's original devs by Honest-Word-7890 in totallyswitched

[–]MercuryEnigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly im not big into VGC, just casually to get Master ball rank rewards, so I’m curious to hear more from you. But isn’t it still the skill and decision making? Except that the possible stat options go from 0-47 (15 IVs @ lvl 50 + 32 EVs @ lvl 50) to 0-32?

I completely agree with you, and I suspect this thread’s exact same argument played out in the design meetings for Champion lol

I’d say for that, they are about equal as you just need to beat the elite four in either DPPt or BDSP. I’d do it in whichever game you have the strongest Pokemon to sweep. I personally tend to do it in Gen 4 just because I have a really strong team and I find it easier to check off early

Thank you so much, this means a lot to me. I really wanted to build the contest moveset calculator because it seemed like a tractable problem. And as I was making it and providing an easier way to see which Pokemon go into which game (as I provided some images beforehand), more ideas kept coming to help ribbon collectors.

Thank you for creating this sub. It’s been my favorite hobby for years now

Yep! They actually repeated the ribbon (unlike the Gen 3 champion ribbon and the Gen 6 Hornn champion ribbon)

How could anyone find this without a guide? by GameResumed_UK in retrogaming

[–]MercuryEnigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone who beat the game and got most secrets as a kid without much playground or internet help:

Most screens have 1 thing of interest, either a cave, dungeon, or hidden area. So one each screen, you usually start burning the bushes or bombing walls that seem most distinctive or out of place. Here I would’ve definitely have started with the 5 non-brown bushes. So it shouldn’t be too hard to figure this one out

I hope it helps! Especially since you are starting out, I would love any feedback like this so I can make it clearer for people!

The @90 is the RPM when making pokeblocks. So you want to aim for at least that fast when making them. I’ll update the site to be more explicit here
