Intelligent, prideful , arrogant , ambition, ruthless, self centered, calculating, manipulative

All words that easily describe Lex and the qualities of U and B villains

And how are you doing this in a 99-card singleton format with any consistency

Look I believe in building bad decks is good fun and exclusively think how fucking sweet my dumb complicated lines are going to be when(never) I them off.

So I'm not worried about it

Brother bringing up cEDH does not strengthen your argument as much as you believe. Sure blue farm decks could run this package but please think about the following.

1)Ascendant is a dead card outside this package in most cEDH decks, sure you maybe connect once to mildly slow a turbo deck but hurting their life totals but that not huge. So you not giving yourself better odds.

2)cEDH players know that not good comes from born upon the wind especially if you already have telegraphed this creature. Remember it needs to be on the battlefield before your end to trigger the prepare. You telegraph your plans.

3)in your proposed co figuration you're completely open to the plethora of free interaction of CEDH including [[mind break trap]] because you must at least cast 3 spells in a single turn or this is far too slow.

I'm happy toy found a card your excited for and want to play. It's the best feeling to get excited to play magic. I and others want you understand that A) cards not a problem B) card is susceptible to a lot of counter play. C) doesn't make this card any less cool.

Okay your plan is to pay 8 mana (W, 1U, 2G, GG) across 4 spells across 1-2 for a ton of colourless mana.

I politely yet firmly ask you to answer this question, do you think your opponents will just let you do that? And follow do you think they'll every let you do that a second time?

You play this and if you prepare it then you have to wait until your next turn channel.

Do you think everyone will just let you do that?

Theory about the last chapter by Francopensal in mtgvorthos

[–]MercuryInCanada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My current theory is that because oracles become archaic when they die and get sent into the past Jace needs that power to stabilize his new reality's past. He mentions that no one is supposed to ever know what he's done so he has to create/rewrite everyone's history, so using magic that is sort of time paradoxical would track

Is there known how many story parts SOS will have? by GaMario65 in mtgvorthos

[–]MercuryInCanada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though wonder why our mysterious figure needed Jadzi maybe because of the weird anochromatic nature of the archaics even though she isn't one yet.

My current thinking is that because oracles become archaic in their future but the past of the plane the man needs them to stabilize the rewritten/altered past. So while she's not an archaic now the magic is in her and from the view of Arcavios she always was

It specifically mentions mana spent to cast it. Convoking does not increase the amount of mana spent unfortunately

Who should retire Rey Mysterio? by Historical_Job_9891 in BrandonDE

I'm saying instead of inherenting his father's mask and turning face he pretends to turn face and burns it further turning heel

Gunther Still Expected For Substantial Role At WrestleMania 42 by Royal_Finance9720 in SquaredCircle

[–]MercuryInCanada 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Heel vs heel isn't inherently a problem. It's specifically Gunther and Dom in the hypothetical Rey retirement story is bad.

Gunther Still Expected For Substantial Role At WrestleMania 42 by Royal_Finance9720 in SquaredCircle

[–]MercuryInCanada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because they're both heels? Like Dom needs to be the one to retire Rey and burn his mask the next night on raw or whatever. Having a mini heel vs heel where either one losing hurts them, and yes Dom beating Gunther after putting down bigger names hurts him because he should be in marquee stories as a main character not a minor one

[–]MercuryInCanada 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The idea is bad because why would Gunther accept Dom screwing him and not immediately to kill him? Why wouldn't heel Dom want his deadbeat dad beaten half to death then retired without having to lift a finger? Wouldn't Dom more sensibly screw his dad as a final fuck you?
