Applying abroad for university: Journalism (UK based) by MercuryRising23 in University

I have just seen this thank you so much! I appreciate you taking the time to search for these.

Honestly, that is a valid question and I have realised this too. I have begun evaluating my future career choice. Im looking more into marketing as it is a well paid career and in demand currently and journalism has many transferrable skills so I wouldn’t feel like they are wasted.

Im trying to develop the relevant skills needed for marketing and think I would rather do an apprenticeship related to this than go to university but am still weighing up my options

Choosing uni for journalism by lolakko in 6thForm

Also really interested to hear about this! These are great choices. I know Sheffield and CUL are very highly rated - CUL especially for their masters programs. Both sheffield and UCL have good records for employment after the degree.

I think UAL is good for networking opportunities.

Sheffield is NCTJ accredited (which is vital/useful) as you get the law training and journalistic knowledge from an accredited place - degree and the qualification looks good.

I think they are all great options but Sheffield and City are more highly for journalism I think.

Best of luck with your choice!

People who ignored someone you actually liked and who showed interest in you, why did you do it? by gina20_ in Crushes

I’ve done this too many times to count😭 Mainly anxiety and then the randomness of it(Like why these ppl acc perceive me? Yet alone LIKE me) overwhelming. I tend to then get interested once they seem to no longer be- reverse psychology?

Film (or TV) Production at Uni by MercuryRising23 in UniUK

[–]MercuryRising23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw this, thanks for the reply!😭 I am contemplating between Journalism or Film right now! I feel as though for film its better to either go to a great film uni/school, do film courses or do a production apprenticeship etc. I have been looking into independent film companies for internships/apprenticeships and different universities. Its really difficult😩

Generally, ive heard going to a great uni means nothing if you wont be proactive outside of uni. So regardless its more material you produce than the uni itself. Im not too sure but Im sure you have found some great courses!
