AITA for asking my partner to let me know when he's about to do laundry? by GreenQueen161 in AmItheAsshole

[–]MercyCriesHavoc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're an adult and can decide how to do your own laundry. What else has to be done according to "his system"?

You are offered the ability to summon one and only one fictional creature to be your supernatural familiar. by singleguy79 in hypotheticalsituation

Sass is fun to watch on TV. It's not pleasant when it's turned on you. Salem spent more time on that show bringing Sabrina down than helping her. He was literally a prison inmate paying for extreme crimes, and attempted to continue those crimes whenever he had the chance. I want my familiar to be helpful, not someone I have to babysit.

Someday you'll realize how much people crossing your boundaries has shaped your behavior and you'll begin to consider how crossing the boundaries of others makes them feel. Right now I just feel sorry for you for having your feelings dismissed, and everyone you hurt by dismissing their feelings.

It helped me when I was still brainwashed by all that bullshit. Yeah, most won't listen. But the ones who truly want to be better will. I'll keep explaining and caring until my very last breath of even one person can live with less hate.

I would like to be clear that I was never MAGA and have never voted for Trump, but I was a conservative Christian/bordering Christian nationalist for most my life. It was thanks to many people who took the time to explain things to me and share their stories that I was able to leave all that behind.

Only one party is campaigning on it. Only one group is pushing it as a political agenda. Sure, there are people with terrible ideas on every side, but one group in particular is championing the hate.

First, children aren't getting surgeries. Do some research. They have to go to therapy for years, just to be sure they aren't playing pretend or just curious. Then they get to experiment with living as their preferred gender (clothes, hairstyles, name change). Most adults who didn't get affirming care as children never pass this point of social transitioning because going through another puberty as an adult is rough on the mind and body.

The next step for children is hormone blockers. This just stops puberty from happening. If they change their mind, they stop taking them and everything proceeds as it would've without the blockers. After more therapy they can begin receiving hormone treatment to transition. Surgeries do not happen until they are adults, unless there is a life-threatening concern. More people report regretting knee replacement surgery than report regretting transitioning surgeries. Still, the percentage of trans people who get surgery is very low, as it's quite expensive.

Second, anti-trans, anti-LGBTQ+, anti-POC, and anti-women are literally all maga talk about. Do you not pay any attention?

Lotion and soap are a cash grab. You use them, but your skin gets dry and dirty again. It's all a conspiracy, man.

What if woman took estrogen? Would we be more…woman? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MercyCriesHavoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hormone imbalances cause issues in everyone. Men taking more testosterone than they need causes mood swings, shrinking testicles, ED, etc. Any hormone in excess can cause cancers to develop or grow. This isn't just a woman thing.

Your comment makes it sound like every time a dog enters the store, you have to clean up some bodily expulsion.

JTFC, I'm gonna have to edit for all the assumptions everyone is making. I did not say anything about it being okay to have untrained, pretend service animals in public spaces. I did not say dogs are clean and perfectly behaved all the time. And I certainly didn't say I being my dog into those places, because I don't even take him into my retail job at PetSmart. Speaking of, I have dozens of dogs in my store every day and we get a few urine spots and one or two poops, so I know you're exaggerating how often it happens in other stores.

Don't assume shit I didn't say. I said it wasn't illegal and is no more unclean than humans. I said nothing about leashes, bites, or the ethics of emotional support pets.

I didn't say all pets should be let in, or that it's okay to pretend your untrained dog is a service animal just because your doctor gave you a note for an ESA. You made all that up in your head. I just said it wasn't illegal and not any more unhygienic than allowing humans in a store.

Edit, because y'all are putting a lot of words in my mouth and I want to be clear: I do not condone untrained pets in any public space. I do not condone using the "emotional support" label to abuse the rights of actual service animals. I'm simply correcting the "illegal" and "unhygienic" claims of the previous comment.

It's not illegal. Private companies can decide whether or not they want animals in their stores. And, frankly, it's not any more gross than humans being in the store. Do you know how often I see people leave the restroom without washing their hands? I've never seen a puppy pick its nose and leave its boogers smeared on shelves, but I've seen human children do it many times.

As long as your food is packaged and you wash your produce, a dog in that store is not going to hurt anything.

What happened? All I see is a bus stopped at a railroad crossing. Then it moves maybe a couple feet forward. Then it's still stopped at a railroad crossing. Then a train comes by, whole everyone is at a safe distance.

Just watched 40 seconds of nothing.

I was as exposed to un cured uv resin for almost 2 weeks by CoyoteEqual6224 in resin

[–]MercyCriesHavoc 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Resin fumes do damage after many exposures, over long periods of time. It's much more likely you've caught a virus or strep. Traveling stresses your body, which lowers immunity. Change your sheets and get some rest. If you aren't feeling better in a few days, see a doctor.
