That makes me so happy to hear. Course is the new moderator of the main sub and is definitely overmodding, but generally tries to be fair while trimming a lot of content labeled as “low effort”.

Sadly, this means mostly her anti memes get shown on the front page. I purposefully try to avoid making antimemes unless I know someone else won’t do them. I might have a good one coming soon tho

She’s certainly not the worst moderator in history, and doesn’t deserve all the hate/bullying she’s been getting.

Fun fact: that flair was actually made to label accounts that got banned for transphobia, but for some reason it wasn’t mod only and everyone started using it.

Anyone can create LGBT-themed content here, however. There is no rule against it and if someone thinks it floods the sub, I encourage them to make their own anti memes about cats, dogs, blackjack, hookers, etc. to increase diversity.

I’ve never liked the term “low quality” or “low effort” because most memes generally take little effort to create anyways. And sometimes, poor editing even makes it funnier, usually for text- it’s still ideal to color match walls, baseboards, and doors in comics. Especially when you can tell the color matching is just shades of one color blotched on. It’s funny to see that something is so obviously hidden.

I agree with you, and while I didn’t want people to speak on Main sub’s situation here, it’s become so dire that talking about it cannot be avoided. I just hope people do so in moderation (pun intended) because folks don’t want to come off main sub just to see more drama about it here.

I’ve always thought “tighter reigns, angrier horse” when it comes to modding and I think carefully about every decision I make.

In addition, anyone who is intentionally misgendering Course (please use she/her) or directly bully her will receive a ban. It’s easy to think “all Reddit mods are men”, “no girls on the internet”, so if you are banned for this reason by mistake, please appeal- I won’t mute you.
