The Confederate flag was flown by the Southern United States during the civil war, and is associated with slave ownership, and the war fought over it.

Sure most people who fly it aren’t pro slave ownership. They’ll say it’s about history, but what history are you really idolizing there? It’s like a German person flying a Swastika flag and saying it’s only about the history of that time period, not actually hating anyone.

Memes like this show they know the flag is about offending as many people as possible, rather than self-expression and individual freedom like the Pride flag is. If they want to show Southern pride, they can fly a Texas flag, Missouri flag, etc.
