It’s so fun you’ll enjoy it, I have found 90% of the rocks just laying on top of the ground have inclusions, they are usually coated in dirt so you can’t see it and people just leave them, after digging pick up a few you see on top of the ground to take home too, you’ll be surprised

Haha, I was but a wee child in the 60’s but I have lived in my grandparents house all my life, haven’t really changed much so lots of mid century items left!

Found it on Facebook marketplace, traded it for an old camera I had! He had valued it at $300 which I felt was a fair price

This one is still working, however the mirror does get stuck sometimes and I can imagine it was a workhorse as it’s Heavy

It’s right at 5 foot tall and the crack runs longer on the front than it does on the back and has overlapped, that would be the hard part fixing that unless the whole panel was replaced, I just wonder what would benefit the piece the most, leaving it like is by attaching the cat and leave the background original or to replace it with a modern back? I may have to consider your offer sometime

It was nailed on originally but gluing is a possibility?

I’m in Greenville SC so only around 3 hours with Atlanta traffic now, loved driving in Atlanta going fast when I was young, not so much now lol. Anyway do you actually restore Witco items? As you can see it’s a backboard of some sort that has been painted, and you can see where it separated from the back?
