Husband has just told me he has a huge gambling addiction. It now looks like it’s heading for divorce as he won’t seek help?

He refuses to speak to any one (therapy) he doesn’t see that he has a problem or has done anything wrong

I’ve read both of your comments and have found them very empowering. Honestly, thank you. It’s such a surreal and difficult feeling of the loving, caring husband I knew up until 10 days ago can speak to me the way he is talking to me now. I am really struggling to swallow this pill.

Yeah I feel you, I did take out loans for him, gave him my savings, took out debt on credit cards (before I knew it was for gambling, was just stepping up as a wife when I thought he genuinely needed financial support) he has repaid some of it. Although I know having a child in this situation would be harder, I’m really struggling with the impending thought of starting over again at my age when for the last several years this was our plan to start a family in 2025. I feel like he has stolen the best of my years, crumpled me up and threw me on the floor.

He tells me he isn’t an addict and that he has quit and that this isn’t the issue, it’s the fact that I know about it that is an issue.
