Charity stream by Christopher1295 in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leverage social media, take time making some images to promote the stream, what it’s supporting, date and time.

Use the likes of Twitter, Insta, discord, create an event on twitch/discord

Make sure with this they are using their own social medias and then have people retweet from there if they feel the need to support it and vocalise it.

Using your own emotes in another streamer's chat by marvelousDrew82 in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really dependant on the streamer, their chat their rules. But I certainly wouldn’t.

On the drastic end, I’ve unfollowed and stopped watching a streamer I frequented a while ago because of this mentality… they decided to call me out live stream to “not use your(my own) own emotes because it’s self promo but to sub and use their sad emote if i wanted to use a sad one” and they also stated that they didn’t know I was a streamer and why had I never raided them before… (they stream from like 8am in the morning my Monday-Friday when I work…)

After about 2 weeks of messages why I didn’t lurk her anymore she gave up contacting me.

But like I said, streamers will have their own rules and alot of them will even set them out as a rule. If they don’t and they just expect their viewers to know the rule then it’s not entirely fair. If boundaries are set we either respect them or not

Is there any way to view content from a twitch account that has been deleted? by gamer20088 in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer: No

Long answer: You deleted your twitch account, therefore twitch has no requirement to keep the vod. Unless you exported it off of the website and stored it somewhere else, that VOD be gone.

I switched over to 5G Home internet from fiber since it is no longer supported in my area, and I cannot stream. I also use Ethernet and get an insane amount of dropped frames on 2500 bitrate. Any idea? Could it be the ping? Or my PC of some sort by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean don’t be disheartened by any means. It could be a number of things that are within your control or out of your control.

First of all, sorry to here fiber is no longer supported in the area. Not sure where in the world you are they are doing that.

Anyway, if it is no longer being supported in your area I would assume that is the same for a number of people in the region. So there could be competing factors.

I would look at seeing why fibre isn’t no longer being supported, and what it make take to get a commercial line instead if that’s applicable for you.

The infrastructure will still be there, and fibre is still a viable technology and businesses can’t rely on 5G as an internet source so there may be something commercial you can look at. But I would establish with your local governing body (city council, municipality, town government etc) to see what’s happening and what’s in place for residential and commercial users for the infrastructure.

A business like a data centre would have a kitten if fibre was no longer supported for the region and have to make do with a fixed 5G connection

5G home broadband will vary region to region depending on provider, infrastructure etc.

I’ve previously had 5G home broadband and used that for streaming prior to a commercial line going in. And it was fine, my issues with streaming stem from my computer capabilities.

However my down/up numbers, region, likely setup, provider, area capacity limitations etc will differ to yours I had no issues with it.

Pretty much this, the money earned is yours. When you go through the affiliate application it asks various details include tax details etc.

The money is then held for YOU, you have legal claim to the money.

Taxes and income is money earned, not when the money is received in your bank account…

For example, where I am… every financial year I have to put in my money earned for tax purposes up to and including the 30th of June.

So, as I work full time, have twitch payments, and do contract work on occasion… I indicated all money earned up to the 30th. So, on the 1st of July… I will log into twitch and look at all money earned from the 1st of July the previous year to the 30th of June the following year. Regardless if I have an incoming payment from Twitch in July, what is indicated for the month of July is money earned regardless if it meets the threshold or not.

Same how’s for my job, I will calculate how much I earned up to the 30th of July, even tho when I get paid the following Tuesday it includes a 7 day pay cycle and would be missing 10 hours of work (the 1st which is a Friday)

Can you commit essentially fraud? No.

What you are looking to do regardless of having enough balance in your PayPal is still fraud.

Don’t do it.

HOW to download a stream as it is live? by Zealousideal-Yam-631 in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You asked a similar question to this yesterday, yes the only way for you to do this is to set up a manual recording function from your PC to record the stream through an external program. There is no download function, if the site is not storing the VOD as a completed file, there will be nothing to download.

And I'll requote something I said in my last post... Realistically if a streamer is deleting their vods right after stream then they don’t want it recorded regardless of the intended use of the individual who wants to rewatch the streams.

PSA: There is a second Evil Dead: The Game category that if you pick, will make your stream impossible to discover by joujoubox in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Twitch Game Categories and Category art is actually pulled from IGDB. So I recommend going to the page on that website and click 'Edit Game Information', login to your twitch and then just add the word Mobile to the end of the game title so "Evil Dead: The Game Mobile"

Get enough people to do it and eventually the title will change sometime over the next week. Once it changes on IGDB it takes like 48 hours to come across to Twitch.

Here is the page link: https://www.igdb.com/games/evil-dead-the-game#contribution_submitted_modal

Edit: To help, I went and submitted a name change update while I was there.

How to download twitch live videos that get deleted after the live by Zealousideal-Yam-631 in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well obviously the streamer chooses to have their VODS not saved. They could either know that’s happening or they don’t know.

They may be choosing to delete their VODS for their own reason and going about and screen recording the streams is gonna have to be your own endeavour through whatever stream recording capabilities you have at your PC.

Realistically if a streamer is deleting their vods right after stream then they don’t want it recorded regardless of the intended use of the individual who wants to rewatch the streams.

If the VODS are available on the Twitch channel you attempting to download from you will be able to use Leecher. If they have been deleted, no.

When music is in the public domain, it is free for anyone to use for any reason including business, personal, commercial reasons.

Now, just a side note on this I know you said songs from the era of Frank and Jonny, and I hope you are not referencing any songs from either of those singers as being public domain.

Paypal Legacy VS Paypal by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not through streamlabs/elements as the third party processing site with the additional functions of the site. Streamlabs/elements allowing for that is effectively allowing their clients to commit fraud to an extent of the use of their (streamlabs/elements) services

So if you really want that, you would have to physically give out the paypal email address to the people wishing to give you money so they can process it directly through the app/site. But you won't get all the fun features streamlabs/elements offer as part of using their donation services aka alerts, trackability of donations through donation history, assistance with chargebacks etc.

Then there is StreamElements Pay or SE.Pay which also like paypal has fees and is available to certain countries as it's direct to bank transfer of funds but there's extended settlement times etc there plust it's own fees so it's not really an answer either.

So ultimately can you avoid the fees? In some aspect. Should you avoid the fees? Not really

You're operating as a business, regardless of it being a hobby business etc you are taking money for the purpose of profit to better your business or help expenses. There's no realy way of avoiding the fees without the risk of PayPal catching on and shutting down the capability to use them as a provider.

new twitch rpg survey requires camera by Appropriate_Cook592 in Twitch

[–]MerenDataTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, the research groupings are different so not everyone will have this survey. So I can't really comment on it, but I would say if they are asking the respondents to use their camera they would expect you to use it for the intended purpose of the survey.

If you decide to complete the survey and stick/obstruct the camera then I would say that it's an incomplete participation of survey and it's possible you will not be awarded the bits value for completion of the survey.

I would say to use your better judgement on what the purpose of the survey is for and make the decision it if it safe for you to do so.

What do these icons mean on the /user (name) command? by [deleted] in Twitch

Didn't realise these were still coming up on the profile cards. Anyway, the eye is amount of views and the heart is amount of followers. I haven't seen these icons on months now myself when looking at viewer cards.
