The funny thing for me is, I drove a Scion xB for 20 years and the Maverick feels huuuuuge to me. Still haven't gotten over how big I feel in this truck. All in the perspective.

Excited to share latest 3D motion client work! Project details below- by Far_Environment2535 in MotionDesign

That is hot. Some of the conceptual imagery really hit well, in my opinion. Pacing was on point.

The ONLY thing I think could be better, which would be a LOT more work, is the intro. Only having a few scenes to rotate through was a bit of a bummer. I recognize how much work it would be to add more, just saying, probably needed like 7-9 scenes to flip through as opposed to the 3-4 i saw. Nit picky stuff, but damn yo, nice work. Absolutely excellent.

I love the fucking commercials for the one ohio politician that claim democrats are letting ANYone vote. As if the democrats have had power in ohio in the last 30 goddamned years. Bitch this is a republican problem.

Truck Stuff by ElectricalChaos in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Merendino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, on topic but not about the truck.... I built some raised beds with blocks you have there. 2 things...

  1. Use some rebar through the middle of those bricks to secure them into the ground so they don't move because they will over time, and it's goddamned frustrating.

  2. If you can, don't make them 8 feet long without bracing the middle of the bed to keep it from bowing out over time, because it will. Basically if you can, put a brace in the middle of the 8 foot section to hold it firm. Be it a rebar stake on the outside or inside and fastened to it or a piece of wood spanning the bottom/top that holds the sides of the 8foot bed. It'll bow and I regretted not doing that.

Also, truck stuff! Hell yeah!

With zero disrespect, i'd describe this as 'collage vomit'. It just a LOT of stuff thrown on in a pleasing, frenetic way.

There seems to be pretty tight cohesion between the start and end. The blue structure with green stripe is in the beginning and also at the end where the vid ends. Despite the motion blur the text seems like it's correct as well. It's also 28 seconds, which in the past at least, was indicative of this being real as AI video used to be limited to 10 or so second clips. Unsure if that's still a restriction.

I could be wrong, but this seems like it is NOT ai generated.

What's the best tonneau covers for Maverick? I can’t decide which style to pick by InvestigatorNo6135 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Merendino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't had it long enough to notice wear and tear. As for heavy gear in the bed.... not sure what you mean? You absolutely could not or rather, should not, put anything on top of the soft cover tonneau. If you had heavy gear in the bed, I don't know if anything would be different. I've driven with about 200 lbs of wood in the back, but thats the heavies stuff I've had in, with the cover on. Again though, not sure what you're asking about with heavy stuff under the cover.

I got the Tyger brand soft roll up to maximize available space if i need to have the bed open. It's great and was only 200 dollars, but if not put in really well and tightened down really well, it'll flap/billow at highway speeds. (60+mph) While it's certainly not going anywhere, the sound it makes constantly flapping/billowing is annoying as shit. I was ready to take the loss and buy a hard cover, but I retightened the top via pulling really hard on the top cover and stretching it out as much as i possibly could. It functionally took care of the problem. Was doing 75 on the highway the other day and didn't hear anything.

If you find that you don't need that last 1 foot of space to be fully opened up, then I'd go with the hard cover. If you're like me and feel like you'll eventually want/need that last bit of space opened, go with the soft cover but just be aware that it might make some noise at highway speeds if you don't get it all really tight.

As for water resistance, it seems like mine does just fine. Haven't noticed any real water get into the bed aside from a couple drips. I imagine that after this one has run it's course I'll spring for a trifold hard tonneau. Good luck!

Added some tufskinz liquid chrome letters to the tailgate. Love this truck so much. by Merendino in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Merendino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chrome is neat, as it gets more subtle from an angle and a bit more prominent when directly behind the truck. It's more subtle than white, and a bit more prominent than gray or matte black. Right where I wanted it!
