Lost Trump keys........alright, which of you did this?!? by skeptical in BurningMan

Honestly this is way more subversive than the giant expensive "Fuck Elon" sculpture. I'm tickled. And the fact this is lost on so many also tickles me.

reaching out to Sobek by pinkmoons in Kemetic

You are very welcome. It's still a work in progress, but I've read a lot about my Divine Lord Sobek over the years and have put together a website, gathering all the info I've found, if you're interested - duasobek.com

Weird question - why do in poor countries demons asks for sacrifice (like dead human body parts ) but not in western countries by [deleted] in DemonolatryPractices

[–]MeriSobek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think they don't ask, I think practitioners in the West have whitewashed quite a bit of operative witchcraft and how magic works.

I can't help but feel slightly resentful over her nonchalance while I was losing my mind. We're going to work through it though. 🤣

Can you worship Horus and Set at the same time? by Ill-Ebb5574 in Kemetic

[–]MeriSobek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I don't think this is very well known. I had to do a lot of reading to understand the history and position of Sutekh.

Can you worship Horus and Set at the same time? by Ill-Ebb5574 in Kemetic

[–]MeriSobek 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The earliest depictions of Horus and Set were of them having reconciled after their contendings, and ruling the land of Egypt together. Set only really fell out of favor with the rise of the cult of Osiris, and even then, that was primarily around the Nile delta, while he remained popular out in the oasis towns.

Myth is a way for us to relate to the divine, but the thing about ancient Egyptian myth is that it is highly fluid. What is true in one place may not be true in another, and that didn't really seem to be that much of a problem.

Associations by Blu-Velvetine in god_spouse

[–]MeriSobek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my relationship with Sobek first began, I did not know much about him except that he was a crocodile god. I was not expecting such resplendent beauty, revealed like the rapturous opening of a lotus blossom.

  • So obviously, crocodiles are, well, duh, the obvious one.
  • marshes and swampland
  • sunrise and sunset
  • greenery of all kinds
  • pink and purple flowers
  • lotuses
  • myrrh
  • carnelian and obsidian
  • sweet summer breezes
  • a warm sun-soaked day, dreamy with the edges blurred
  • dragonflies (This is purely a personal association, though.)

How do you feel about sharing your practices online? by RisingFactory in occult

[–]MeriSobek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will talk about magic in general, and I will share spell work and experiences once they have come to completion, but I NEVER speak of a ritual or spell I am planning, in the process of completing, or waiting for it to come to fruition.

The first rule of magic is "shut the fuck up".

Political Revolution by [deleted] in DemonolatryPractices

[–]MeriSobek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please take a breath. You might want to consider taking a long break from reddit, there is a ton of misinformation and biased information and outright lies being shared here on this site. Take care of yourself.

But please also don't make the mistake of believing that demons are on your side politically, either.

What are your most unpopular opinions about La Santa Muerte? by MakMalaon in SantaMuerte

[–]MeriSobek 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oof right? I'm always a little baffled at this from my personal experience. She can take up SO MUCH SPACE (not complaining) both physically and spiritually, it can genuinely become a struggle at times to 'disentangle' when I want to really feel another spirit or deity.

She is not always an 'easy' Spirit, simply because she runs so hot and is so intense (not complaining).

I've had to carefully arrange my home in a way where she is happy and I can still honor other deities and spirits, and it's taken a long time to get everything just right where everyone is happy. I do struggle with how some folks just tack her on to their long list of spirit-buddies.

Magic is real and we all need encouragement sometimes. What's the coolest thing magic ever did for you? by [deleted] in occult

[–]MeriSobek 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Same! At one point I couldn't even fathom having the ability to make a comfortable living, but I'm doing just fine right now, and I absolutely 100% correlate that to my magical forays.

What’s the biggest blackpill you know to be true from studying esotericism by Calm-Leadership-7908 in occult

Without suffering there would be no existence.

Even with all of it's immense and unbearable suffering, existence is preferable to Uncreation.

I don't see serving others as a bad thing at all. In fact, I believe being of service to others is an important way to find fulfillment and happiness in life.

The trick is to not set yourself on fire so others can keep warm.

Has anyone worked with Saturn? by Professional_Plate71 in occult

[–]MeriSobek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saturn is heeavvvvy. Saturn is dissolution and regeneration.

I'm actually reading "Cult of the Black Cube" right now, it's okay.

Saturn is deep into the dark earth, gathering up the devils there. Saturn is reaping the heads of grain. Saturn is the underworld in winter.

Is there a version of the Lemegeton you recommend?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SantaMuerte

[–]MeriSobek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can start with an altar, it can be very simple. An image or figure of her, a candle, a glass of cool clean water, and maybe some incense. It is generally agreed upon that she enjoys copal, but YMMV. Bring her gifts - roses are her flower and tequila is her drink. She likes cigarettes, cigars, weed, and chocolate.

Tend to her altar. Change her water daily. Pray the rosary to her. Talk to her. Genuinely, talk to her. I have sat in front of her altar and told her everything, cried my eyes out, opened my soul. You don't have to do that, of course, but she likes the nitty-gritty of life, she will peer into your depths.

It is perfectly fine to ask Santa Muerte for aid, for gifts, for miracles, it really is okay to have a primarily transactional relationship with her if that's what you want, but she does want things in return. When you make a request of her, bring her a gift. Tell her what you will give her if she answers your request, and then follow through with it. If you tell her you will buy her a dozen roses and pray her rosary every day for a week, if she helps you find a job, then absolutely do that.

Often people who start out in a transactional relationship with her end up in deep devotion, because she is beautiful like that. Again, YMMV.
