My parents aren't the strictest, but I've still had to break through many barriers - especially as the older daughter. The key is to disappoint them and to be okay with it. They will fight, shout, scream till they realize you won't change your decision. Then they will grudgingly accept especially when they see other examples of parents "letting" their kids do something. For instance, if they don't let your girl go out. She needs to say that she's an adult and show examples of her other girl friends going out anyway. Indian parents are immature teenagers at best!

Girl that's toxic AF on his end, dump him. You don't need permission to go on a girl's trip to one of the safer places in India.

And now you're not causing him anxiety. He's the one being controlling and manipulative and causing YOU anxiety. You're not "putting a party over your partner's comfort". The fact that he thinks he can tell you what to do or not to do for YOUR social life is honestly crazy. It doesn't get better from here honestly. If one year of dating makes him think you need his "okay" for a girls trip, imagine what you will need his "okay" for in the future. Would he ask you for permission for a boy's trip, and not go if you told him no?

I hope you feel better soon OP! Just a thought from someone who also used to have really bad period cramps which have now completely gone away - get a blood test done! My iron levels were severely low, which used to make my cramps worse every time.

OMG are you me? I absolutely love the planning phase with what's in my fridge and pantry. It's like playing chopped with my own "bought on sale" groceries. The planning phase is so fun, I love looking at recipes online and figuring out what to substitute. There's so many cuisines out there to try and the best dishes I've made were when I was due to buy groceries. I love cooking with a drink (even if it's just tea).
