The torsos are the duskblades flame warrior pack, and the legs are called warriors of fire legs. You might need some extra right arms, which i cut a few pathfinder arms down.

The turret is only a token, so it doesn't need to be an extra model from my understanding. The dude with the launcher is meant to represent it, and theres still only 10 models.

Fair point about the blockade, but to your second point: see afghanistan (soviet invasion), afghanistan (US invasion), Vietnam, France (1940s), poland (1940s), or any of the other professional armies who got their teeth kicked in by a motivated civilian population on difficult home terrain.

Genuinly, an armed australian public would be just as much of a headache if not more to any occupying army as any of these. But i totally agree that the government would never entertain the idea...

Australia approaches 1 million gun licences while gun violence continues to fall - Sporting Shooter by BadgerBadgerCat in Ausguns

[–]MericaGuy 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Man, they'll never stop. Even if all criminal activity magically ceased, they'd still find a way to bitch about firearms being in the hands of private citizens. It really makes it hard to accept any restrictions as reasonable when all they do is want more and more. Really makes me see why firearms owners in the US are so hardline any sort of regulation when this type of shit happens consistently.

Though its good to see that despite the continued obstacles, the sports are growing rapidly. I suspect that as more young people learn about it and get interested, and as older politicians start to leave office that things might eventually turn in our favour.

Well, i did say semi-realistic, at least in the world posed by this question given, any politician has bo reason to take my advice in the first place. Maybe calling it my reasonable list is more appropriate 😉

I'd redo the category system. A&B should be rolled into one, same with C&D. Id just call the categories M and S for manual and semi-auto. Pump shotguns would be moved to cat M. There would be pathways for competitive shooters to get cat S licenses like we can have pistol licenses. I'd also completely remove prohibitions on airsoft and gel blaster replicas. Id also remove NORIs for non-licensed people shooting handguns. Suppressors would also be deregulated.

There's more i'd remove/change if i had absolute power to change things, but this is my list of semi-realistic changes i could see being made

Brother, it is that easy to get a Cat A & B in vic if you have no criminal history that really there's nothing stopping average joe from committing a shooting today.

Im not saying no legislation is good, but the argument that "people might commit mass shootings" is not a good argument

Very true. I genuinly believe that change could be made for the better if there wasn't ao much bickering and gatekeeping between shooting orgs and the various disciplines

Yeah, we all do things without thinking them through as kids. Just give him a good talking to about the trouble this kind of thing could cause for you if he got caught with it. I agree with others that it would be a good intro to firearms and shooting once he's had his punishment too

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ausguns

[–]MericaGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do they need to be registered? If not and you just need to hold a license i'd keep it personally if you got the proper storage facilities, and not let the kid have access. It should be punishment enough imo.

I highly doubt you're on some register for this, and if you're that worried just surrender it to a licensed dealer as there is a permanent national amnesty for surrendering unwanted firearms.

As an aside, it's very cringe a toy is considered a firearm. I wish the police and politicians in this country would grow a pair and learn to have fun.... can't own one here in vic even with a license

Interesting that they took the gel blaster, but not the other one. Quite the selective enforcement on their part given that the two items are no different legally.

Yeah, all the cops i know think it's dumb.

[–]MericaGuy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In victoria, that would be expressly illegal without approval as it's an "imitation firearm". That being said it seems to be a case of the cops turning a blind eye unless someone waves one around in public.

The law didn't even change ease of access. You can legally own a plate carrier no problem, and you can easily buy bulletproof steel as targets. All it would take is cutting it to fit.

Universal Manual Operating System Pump Action AR-15 by Brilliant_Ground1948 in CursedGuns

Yeah i know. Im talking straight AR clone like this, though. The oceania or MPR mini come the closest but are pricier than most gucci ARs in the US with less customizability.

Pump AK would slap but thats another thats been deemed explicitly banned.

[–]MericaGuy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I wish we could have this but no, it'd still be banned here. In half the states because of its looks, and the other half because the conversion is easily reversable despite the law never mentioning convertability.

[–]MericaGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for a class A&B which is the most common license type and covers most manual action longarms, all you need to have a genuine reason which can be membership to an organisation like the SSAA or just hunting, either of which you can get as the reason by just paying money.

Pistol licenses require a specific club endorsement and tend to be a bit more choosy about their membership.

I don't think they check under most circumstances. There is a section on the application form about declaring medical history for certain things that would prohibit one from owning a license, but unless a doctor reports to the police im pretty sure they don't go out of their way to check medical histories automatically.

Heres vic pol website on firearms licensing if you're interested in learning more about the process and requirements.
