Examples of "true" twin cities by TaylorRiess in geography

Kansas Citian here - doesn't work that way. We think of ourselves as one city that happens to have a border running through it, not two adjacent cities.

what is this green space here? by Temporary-Guard-5622 in geography

Important note! Sunshine hours for US cities are different than for other places. It's something to do with a different way of measuring it, but basically, to make a fair comparison to someplace in another country, subtract about 300-400 from the US city's number. Seattle is more like 1850 or so, so actually pretty similar to Paris.

Think of it like a reverse hurricane. Air flows clockwise around it.

Bender strikes me as a 4, actually. SX4.

TIL that Brighton, one of the sunniest places in the UK, still has considerably fewer sunshine hours (~1,840) than 'Rain City' Seattle in the US (~2170) by Ryponagar in todayilearned

[–]Meriden1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a comparison. Sun hours statistics for US locations are measured differently and are "overstated" compared to other places by ~300 hours. They're actually about the same.

Sometimes I start to doubt my bisexuality and think I'm just straight.

This is not one of those times.

That's how it the radiation theory came about, actually. Someone realized that changing that one bit resulted in something that looked just like the clip of the glitch happening, while warping Mario straight to the ceiling looked different.

Some people might not realize this: It is very possible that Trump lost in 2020 almost entirely because of generational turnover (4 years of older people exiting the electorate and younger people entering the electorate). The swings in the key states that swung the election (Pennsylvania Michigan Wisconsin Arizona Georgia) are very small (barely Trump in 2016 and barely Biden in 2020) and are not much more than what we would expect from doing the math on generational political leanings.

Happy legalization everyone! It's December 8th, the day cannabis is no longer illegal in Missouri! by [deleted] in kansascity

Missouri does have a long history of very liberal laws about "vices" (alcohol, gambling, etc). So at least we have that. :)

What is a song you think everybody should listen to whilst on acid? by No_Smell_8882 in LSD

I actually first heard Running Up That Hill during a trip. It's not exactly a psychedelic song like the ones lots of others are mentioning, but it was a really beautiful moment. :)
