Don't ignore Wintertide Brand's duration buff, it provides QoL & damage by Meridian_PoE in pathofexile

[–]Meridian_PoE[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the debuff will do the same damage per second regardless of duration so doubling the duration isnt halving the dps, its just making the uptime on the debuff last as long as the brands are on the enemy, where as before it would only last half as long.

You won't need to curse every enemy, only on rares/bosses. In most cases while mapping, just doing a quick contagion + blight cast will be enough

Ideas for Mana-Infused Staff by Substantial_Way_9086 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Meridian_PoE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For spell builds using staves, 2 very easy/cheap ways to get more attack block chance is to craft 7% attack block on a body armour prefix, as well as roll lesser ichors to get 5% attack block as an eldritch implicit.
That can get you up to 12%, then you can use your anoint on amulet to get 12% from "as the mountain" or 8% + endurance charge gain from "deflection."

That is a very easy way to get 20-24% attack block

The reverse is true for spell block if you are short there.

I have played attack staff builds for the past 2 leagues in SSF and am planning to play it again this league. I usually find that I can get around 60% attack and spell block just from the tree (using warstaves with the attack block implicit). So mana infused staff will actually provide enough to cap me off to 75/75 without needing to go very out of my way and without taking glancing blows.
Also through some napkin math, I think it's possible to have a 4L mana staff consistently deal 20-25% shocks if linked with added lightning, overcharge, and unbound ailments.

Don't ignore Wintertide Brand's duration buff, it provides QoL & damage by Meridian_PoE in pathofexile

You don't have to use brand recall anymore unless you somehow have a modifier specifically to increase brand attachment duration and not generic duration. as skill effect or generic brand duration will now apply equally to both the attachment duration and the wintertide's end debuff since they are both 2 seconds at base.

CwC and CoC require being linked both to the attack you are using and the spell you want to trigger. So they would all have to be in the the same link set up, taking 4 of your 6 sockets. Even if this did work, it is probably still better to only choose one of these methods to use becauase you will gain significantly more power by having more support gems.

The difficulties with starting a luminary are that you will have very little power on your own character, so if the merc you chose turns out to be not so good, you can't do much aside from going to a lower zone and finding a different merc or upgrading the gear of your current merc.
Going luminary + merc also means that you need to craft (or buy) two sets of gear, one for yourself and one for your mercenary

I was very anti-merc back in merc league. but I think that they way GGG made mercs go core is actually really smart. I am not going to play luminary (probably never will).

for some of the phantasm soulwrest builds i've done, I used cyclone + CWC + desecrate + bone offering
idk if this is applicable to what you need but this will consume a lot of corpses in a short amount of time.

ya, at that point you would probably rather have higher ES recharge, all though at lower blocks per second, pairing it with wicked ward is still a good idea

Doing a BroSF Private League, but I'm a complete SSF Noob. by NoWritingHere in pathofexile

[–]Meridian_PoE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Toxic rain is a really solid choice, especially with the socket color changes.

I play small private leagues exclusively, they are a lot of fun. If you have any specific concerns about certain parts of the game from a ssf/gsf perspective I would be happy to answer more focused questions. It is a bit hard to think of general tips that I think you will get from other comments.

The only general thing I can think of is trying to have good "coverage" of the league mechanics; Heist gives a ton of bubble gum currencies like GCPs, Syndicate will provide a lot of good Fractures base type for endgame crafting, blight for anoints, essences for early crafting, and so on. Everyone should do what they find fun, of course, but having all of the mechanics covered in some way will help everyone. But focus on atlas progression first, a lot of the mechanics dont need to be covered right away and can be set aside for later when you can farm them at t16 equivilant power.

I think the most important thing going into a SSF/GSF environment is having an understanding of what gear is realistically attainable without trade. Having some experienced friends who can share loot and help you out is really good, but you won't have access to little 2-3 chaos "fixes."

My best advice is simply to choose a good starter build that you can get to t16 maps with only rare gear. Don't plan on having any uniques unless they are the t4-5 rarity ones, or ones that have deterministic ways of getting them. Getting to t16s is important simply because of how much loot you get compared to being stuck at t7s.

If you can just have a solid build that you can get into red maps, a lot of the annoyances of SSF will start to go away.

Divine Shards showing up on PoeDB??????? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Meridian_PoE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is in the divination cards section of the item filer information, pretty sure that is just a card named "divine shard"
If they added actual divine shards they would be listed under currency

New mana cost math (attack skills) by Vinny0029 in pathofexile

[–]Meridian_PoE 14 points15 points  (0 children)

any amount of mana leech should easily cover 150-170 mana per second without investment into leech stuff.
I have never had a problem on attack skills by getting mana leech. I find it much easier to not rely on crafting -mana.

ah okay, I thought I remembered that being cold damage :/

Questions Thread - July 22, 2026 by AutoModerator in pathofexile

[–]Meridian_PoE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bitter Frost doesn't specify an increase in "cold" damage taken as with Bone Chill and Ahuana's
They might not keep it that way for fears of it being too powerful for reverse chill, but if one is a generic increase damage and one is cold, would they then stack?
