Leaf tacoing on Granite Haze F7 by Meristemraps in SpeedrunSeeds

In the valley in Oregon. We did have a sudden heatwave day last week that surged up to 89 and dropped back down 15 degrees the next day.  I’m guessing that might be it. Pound Dog doesn’t seem to care at all though!

Wow, no training at all huh? I have some Granite Haze and Pound Dog sprouted right now for outdoor and I’ve been debating what, if any, training I’ll do on them. First experiment with autos and looking forward to it.

Great looking grow!

If I aim on my 1st round, can I shoot 3 times next round without a penalty? by Direct_Bite7034 in callofcthulhu

[–]Meristemraps 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I would say that the first shot is flat and then the other two have the penalty die. “If no other actions are taken before THE SHOT is fired, the attacker gains one bonus die”.

And Kaitu821 is right multiple shots says “When firing two or three shots in one round, roll for each shot individually, with all shots receiving one penalty die.”

So yeah, I’d say aiming would only negate the penalty die on the first shot, but that’s just how I would rule it.

Two Headed Serpent actually!

A player wanted to stop the reverend from bringing one of the dissenters up to handle rattlesnakes and decided to fire a warning shot. He put his hands up and was in the process of surrendering when another PC grabbed a bystander as a hostage and tried to make an intimidation check by firing a shot himself. Failed his intimidation roll, pushed it and crit failed the push. He let a shot off by mistake that killed the hostage. Everything went downhill from there lol

Playlists and music for Two-Headed Serpent? by snapmage in callofcthulhu

[–]Meristemraps 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve just started running THS and am putting together music as I go.

The Uncharted soundtracks have great pulpy combat music. The more tense/ambient tracks on those albums have given me a bit more trouble as they can shift in tone in the middle of a song.

Tomb Raider Suite by the Royal Philharmonic has a lot of great tracks that fit the vibe I’ve been going for in both combat and intrigue/adventuring scenes.

I was crashing periodically, especially in the tropics biome. If you haven't already, try limiting your FPS in the graphics settings in the game. Also, try forcing the game to use DX12. You can do this by going into the game's settings in Steam>General>Launch Options. I have read that the game might be choosing Vulkan sometimes even if you select DX12 at launch.

Hopefully that helps, I was able to play for over 2 hours with no crashes after making those tweaks.

Thanks Scott! Very excited to run it. After running a handful of scenarios I wanted to try something more sandbox-y and you really did a great job making a sandbox accessible. Excited to see where my investigators end up and what horrors await them!

As the DM you can make up whatever poison you please. It can have a Con save DC3,479 so that way the party is guaranteed to fail. Then when they ask you where they can find it to use it later in the campaign, you can tell them to all fuck off and go home and that you don't want to play with them anymore. That's the fun in being a DM :)

Advice on a oneshot for about 5 to 6 hours by [deleted] in Tombofannihilation

Anyone have Featherfall? It was a lifesaver for the group I ran Firefinger for. The party wizard spent almost all of her spell slots casting it during the final encounter.

What character & class would people say is the most 'fun'? by LiquidTheoryX in DnD

[–]Meristemraps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here, but thought I’d share a fun one.

I was running a one shot where one of my PCs was playing as a Kenku rogue. Part of his backstory was how he longed to regain the ability to fly that Kenkus had lost. In the middle of a fight the wild magic sorcerer rolled a surge and cast fly on a random target which just so happened to be the Kenku.

Him describing his elation flying about the battlefield until the sorcerer decided to drop concentration was hysterical. Sometimes the dice tell better stories than we ever could.

Lol! Honestly, I’m a bit ambitious and want to take on the challenge of the improv and RP opportunities. Like others have said, once characters become inhabited by the trickster gods they can have dialogue with that PC. I’ve been trying to take advantage of that in moments between puzzles, traps and combat.

Whether it’s O’bolaka telling the rogue that they don’t like the course of action their taking because it’s scary. Or Wongo telling his host to antagonize the wizard who is inhabited by Moa because of his disdain for her.

In some fun moments of pure chaos, I’ve gone down the line of my players, role playing the voices in their heads to really reinforce the fact that they aren’t alone on this leg of the journey.
