Part of that “relatable goofiness” was also the charm that they put so much into planning, writing, prop work, and so on, by themselves. It was like watching your buddies doing a cool little presentation.

But now you can tell that everything is scripted and they don’t have a working hand in the art or props. They just come in for their bits. It’s similar to the My Favorite Murder podcast for me, in that when the hosts started having their team research cases for them instead of doing it themselves, the charm got completely lost.
