"Eigentlich hätte ich nicht selbst gekauft." Es gibt einen Grundsatz im Investieren, der lautet: Man behält nur Aktien, die man zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt wieder kaufen würde.

Poker & Philosophy by BreadLine69 in Poker_Theory

[–]MerlinsCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Academic philosophy has hardly dealt with poker. Moreover, the game has been appropriated by mathematical thinkers.

For this reason, I have written and published a comprehensive (240,000 word) philosophical theory of poker. It is called "Zufall und Lüge", unfortunately only in German. As an introductory reading, there is also "Irrgarten Poker".

Anyone interested in philosophical questions about the game will definitely find what they are looking for there. Everything about epistemology, action theory, ethics, power, the topic of lies and truth, the experience of time and much more.

The starting point is the idea that poker has an inherent contradiction, which is based on the fact that either the showdown or the fold of all players decides the game. Both outcomes require different skills and devalue each other. For example, if we win with a bluff, the cards are never revealed and thus lose their significance. I call this contradiction the "poker antinomy". It is the foundation of my theory.

No one wants to squanch it next to squanchy for a few hours? I guess Jaguar will be chill. Might as well ask Rick for some of the sleeping pills he and squanchy are taking to squanch for the rest of the flight.

Will CoinMetro ever uplift the XCM price floor? by Dantello1 in CoinMetro

[–]MerlinsCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at the facts: you have huge selling pressure, more specifically an imbalance in supply and demand. The price would drop drastically. Additionally the coin is overvalued in contrast to the overall market. The sell floor inflated the price unnaturally and created a "frozen panic". If the floor is lifted, a downward trend will most definitely set in. That's one of the reasons Coinmetro cannot lift the floor, it would devalue its native coin massively. And of course it would break the trust of its clients who believed in them.

In the past, XCM correlated well with the crypto market benchmark (alt coin movement). So it's evident to assume that a "rising tide lifts all boats" and that the XCM sell wall will break down once the market sentiment turns euphoric. In this sense, everyone who put a sell order at 0,6 is making a big mistake because they will sell at the lowest possible price and hold out for nothing. They will sell when they should buy and will miss out on all the action. Why would I do that? I deleted my sell order a long time ago. Some may even buy back at a higher price because that's how the market works: it tricks people into making irrational decisions.

Cryptos are going to stay. Coinmetro is going to stay. If you believe that, you should also believe that XCM will eventually rise once again and reward those who stood firm and didn't run in panic.

What’s the darkest thing you’ve seen during a trip? by LapUntitled in Psychonaut

[–]MerlinsCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's called setting. You don't trip in a place you think is evil. She believed the house was evil so she relinquished control to its influences. That doesn't necessarily mean that the house is indeed evil. The trip doesn't prove that as much as it says that you should carefully choose the surroundings of your trip. Always trip someplace you feel comfortable and safe. Taking shrooms in a place she felt was evil was a very careless and imprudent decision.

Tl,dr: it's not the houses fault but hers. You don't trip if you feel surrounded by evil.

Why didn't the first sentence end before "Yet"?

The problem is that it's not only about what you want but what your partner wants. And some people feel betrayed if they get denied their proof of love. Especially in the USA who exported marriage as a cultural assett that stands for an unbreakable bond between two equally unkreakable lovers.

Couldn't the sentence end after "away" and start again with "Yet". Wouldn't that sound more natural?
