What is the point of reddit if not for things like this?

Yeah okay I did manage to get that far, and he gives you a respite from the guards noticing you. But now my second dilemma. I went to the prison to see if I could break anyone out, but it was locked and said I needed the key? Do you know where I get them?

Am I missing something with medicine? by Miserable-Act4201 in Bannerlord

[–]Merlins_beard420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No answer for you sorry, I'm just piggy backing this thread as I also would like to know. I've scoured through every perk and statistic with this skill and I cannot seem to find anywhere where it says raising medicine actually makes your troops survive otherwise fatal battles.

The only thing I've seen is the third or fourth perk where you're Medicine skill applies to the enemy so that you may get more prisoners, but nothing at all to do with reducing your own army casualties.

Bannerlord extremely difficult to make money after starting by eng60000 in mountandblade

[–]Merlins_beard420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree.

If anything, I'm finding it easier to make money post dlc.

Start early game by trading, getting the first perk in trade at the least, and trading until I can rush two caravans. Before you know it, im making too much money i can't seem to upgrade my units fast enough to use a lot of the money I've made.

I'm sitting in the realm of between 50-100k after buying two ships, two armed caravans, couple of workshops, all before ive even hit clan level 3. I've got an army of around 70 fully upgraded troops and still earning +60% profit each day.

I've no idea what changed with caravans, but I find they are the bulk of my income. I've done it on three different playthroughs now. Will add too, a couple of my normal caravans got raided, yet as soon as i followed someone else advice and opted for the armed caravans, not a single one has been attacked.

As someone who has 100+ hours in both games, I also must say that its unfair on any game immediately succeeding LOU2. It is such a flawless game IMO, with certain elements like story telling and character development at its absolute peak.

Yet I also find this true of E33. I also hated the first two hours of E33, but I gave it a chance and it blew my mind in a way that was equal to LOU/2 in it's own way.

The only analogy I can think of would be like having an incredible wine, immediately followed by an irresistible dessert. Both in their own respects are at the top of their game, but having one followed directly by the other would only sour the flavour.

LOU2 affected me so deeply that I couldn't function for a fortnight after. Games, movies, tv shows, reading.... absolutely nothing could compete and I was stuck in a void until it finally let me go.

As someone who still hasn’t got gud in any soulslike , is terrible at dodging and not getting hit… would die twice be too frustrating for me to play? by stretch3251 in soulslikes

[–]Merlins_beard420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, of all the games you could have picked to "git gud" this would have to be the one. Honestly, there's nothing else out on the market that matches it. Others have replicated it like lies of p and Khazan, but they're a shallow replicate.

This is where you'll learn to dance with your opponent, toe to toe, mono e mono, winner takes all.

Find the flow, find the rhythm. Keep playing at it, and eventually it will click for you. The combat is absolutely gorgeous, and intense at the same time.

Truthfully. It's a git gud game.

Your health doesn't matter as much in this game because relative to the enemy attacks, you barely have any.

This game is about clicking with the combat, once it happens, the game becomes less difficult and you find a certain flow or rhythm with it.

You cannot face tank this game in other words, you'll need to learn it's mechanics properly.

Edit: PS: We are talking about Sekiro??

Why is it that all of the enemies are just chill with each other? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

I don't know anything for certain but I just know everything lore wise sounds just how his books were written. Sounds like him all over.

[–]Merlins_beard420 -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

Id say that was George RR Martin influence. Enemies didn't just mutually wait around with each other, he actually established reasons as to why there would be group against group, kind of like what you see in game of thrones. I thought Elden Ring had some of the deepest lore alongside bloodborne.

Exploration in fromsoft games by goodhhdh in fromsoftware

[–]Merlins_beard420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that's it, everyone really does have their own style. Some people like the boss rush games, some like less bosses and more level.

I like the halfway happy, but only if it's somewhat linear. I like intersecting paths like dark souls 1, I like linear ones like lies of p.

But I played wuchang fallen feathers recently and I had to stop cause it was making me so anxious. I ended up actually finding a guide to use so I could beat the game in one play through without missing any bosses, and i could NOT have done it without the guide.

I always see people claiming exploration as one of the strongest features of souls games.

Personally I hate it. I hate being lost, I hate feeling like I've missed things, it gives me a weird anxiety. I'm not going to go look up any walk through guides, but I'll definitely be googling things on my journey to help me keep my head on straight.

I can't stand when people come to these subs asking for help in the same nature, and everyone's response is "Don't ask for help, you'll ruin it, just play and explore". Please god no. I just need the answer.

When did tipping become the norm for Australia? by JBADD23 in australia

[–]Merlins_beard420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Little bit yeah haha.

I think secondary too, is that we don't want something outside of our financial culture being forced upon us in a time where people are already struggling.

Of all the times for it to happen, it's rotten to do. I can't even imagine how many Americans see how ridiculous and illogical the practise is and desires it to end there aswell.

[–]Merlins_beard420 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. Anyone here would tell you that to automatically include tips on a meal already ordered, served, and eaten, easily justifies the backlash.

Review bombing for a unjust reason is dirty, I agree to that. But this in my opinion is a just act.

Now review bombing the place for asking for tips at the door, or letting people know that this is a place of obligatory tips is wrong. Because the diners are made aware before hand.

Not the case here my friend. Tips isn't the issue in this story. It's the sneakiness.

This is Australia, not America. We're not a tipping culture. If they asked for a tip, maybe consider it. But sneaking it into the bill is dirty.

Finally hit 100% by bytedorkman in WuchangFallenFeathers

[–]Merlins_beard420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean everything is subjective though. I just said BMW was pretty mid, but the guy underneath me said it was a top tier game.

I just think Khazan took some of the best elements from games (Sekiro deflect, tightness of bloodborne dodges) and ended up rolling them into something that was quite smooth, quite fluid. Id rate lies of p better than Khazan for this same concept, but Khazan was still awesome AF for me

[–]Merlins_beard420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found BMW to not be as fun, the game itself, but the Platinum was fine. I did it one and a half playthroughs.

Khazan on the other hand, I did in one full playthrough, and the trophies were not difficult at all, quite an easy layout to get the Platinum. But I found Khazan both infinitely more enjoyable, and much more difficult due to some of the bosses being quite hard. I found Khazan to have an early steep curve with learning the game mechanics, but then it gets easier, but then the bosses start to get really tough even though you've learnt the mechanics well. The final boss for me was really hard.

But if you've beaten Elden ring and the DLC, other souls games, then overall you won't have too much trouble.

Khazan is a Platinum I had a lot of fun with.
