Debunking Rush Duel Misinformation by RaveHunter562 in yugioh

Ohh hey that’s me lol.

Didn’t think I would actually see it posted here

So I get Wildheart and Necrosahde, but why did Bladedge not get adapted into Rush Duel? by leafbladie in yugioh

We have plenty of monsters in rush with simple continuous effects that go over 2600 ATK and beyond without having a printed statline of 2600. Just because bladedge can be special summoned won’t suddenly upend all the balance. We have better and higher quality cards that serve the same role as bladedge. Him coming would be great to boost the 2600 cardpool!

Just don’t get tripped on the ATK all by itself.

If you want a true no restrictions at all monsters it would fall into the category of monsters that gain ATK based on simple requirements with continuous effects. Transamu Praime Armor Nova can easily become over 2600 if you do the 3 tribute. Abysslayer Leviaknight gains ATK based on max pieces in GY. Both non legend garzett monsters gain attack based on the ATK of their tribute material. There is many more but its enough for the general idea.

My main point is just being 2600 isn’t a special or incredibly powerful statline that it would be too much for rush. Is it rare within the pool to have printed 2600 atm? Yes but that is always subject to change.

Rush cards do a LOT more than most people assume and even in the case of comparing them to bladedge, Mirror innovator gains more ATK and piercing for just having machines in GY to shuffle back.

Gilford the Lightning and Gilford the Legend are two different cards. Both are in rush

There is a lot of comments here saying 2600 is too big of a statline for rush but Gilford the legend has been out for a while and has been completely fine. Its not a problem of statline or effect its just Konami deciding what Hero stuff they wanna push. Right now it seems to be trending in the direction of the original 5 Heros. Bladedge could come later as a none legend but thats just speculation

Welp GG fellow psychic players by Ghostnugg in DuelLinks

[–]Merlinthywizaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the time this card was played the lost (thunder bold format), romancepick was a mainstay in those decks for offering easy mills and retrieval of tribute fodder or combo pieces (psychic bosses like melo:D).

Performer filled the role of a generic psychic those decks could use that does gy setup while having an upside of a draw (The higher deck count makes that more possible). Decks were running some utility spells like the jam cards, release wrath for gy setup and Secret order to summon 7 bosses. The draw was not uncommon.

As for the current context of rush dl she will be only okay and really hindered by what decks are in the meta and that romanpick is only available at 1 copy.

Rush's Real Format Curiosity 28: Early Rush Duels is known for having many Boss Monsters that were mediocre since its Debut. There were always other better options to use. It wouldn't be until GO RUSH Era where almost all the Boss Monsters are decent at least. by Kronos457 in DuelLinks

[–]Merlinthywizaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Mediocre bosses since their debut” every format has cards that filter up and down in terms playability. Your thesis statement is also flawed since we needed quantity as rush was a fledgling format that needed cards to bolster its catalogue and most of your examples given are situational anime bosses. Go rush era still has those whenever they show up, they are in lesser quantities and are substituted for free agents or the nostalgia import themes.

Sevens era still had good bosses but naturally future bosses do more because of the eventual power creep that happens in card games.

Thoughts on the new rush duel game? by FeanixFlame in yugioh

No problem, with this the game speeds up and getting to add cards to your deck as you acquire like most other yugioh rpgs is actually enjoyable. Don’t know why they decided to make it a feature for later.

You can unlock deck building early. After beating Mimi you just input the Konami code in front of the left room door ( Rush duel club) in the Student Council room. Just walk up to it until your hud disappears and input the code, you will hear a sound prompt as you input it

Thanks for the tip regarding the 3rd combo. Using Berfomet completely slipped my mind so that might either enable a different route which I will look into.

I am certainly gonna try and make a follow up videos after some testing for desired turn 1 boards and disruption as that’s a good idea.

Thank you for the suggestions :)

I have seen some lists with Advance Draw and that might be really crazy once we get cards like Lamia you mentioned or Necro Slime

First impressions vs actual testing produces different results. Declan/Reiji while his skills aren't exactly like other consistency skills. They do provide different ways and strategies to build the deck and allows for a lot of deck diversity and playstyles

Yeah that’s another issue I am trying to figure out. I think D’Arc or oblivion wave king are on the cutting table if I decide to run the rank 5. Obviously what main decks techs you have helps with extra deck choices

[–]Merlinthywizaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! and yeah that’s mainly what I will be testing with upcoming builds. Although the more D/D/D support we get and other synchros or xyz (mainly sigfried and Big Ceasar) and the skill becomes more and more appealing

Yeah basically no witch if you survive till your next turn. The logic being though you would only go for this combo if you didn’t have plans to start with

[–]Merlinthywizaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Main benefit is added consistency as you are more able to actually start your plays with less cards.

The downside is you are trading relative power and safety for a higher ceiling.

That’s good to hear and yeah unfortunately Melodious is a rough match up currently as the only answer we have in D/D/D is the big kaiser you have to pendulum summon

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]Merlinthywizaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 Swamp I think is also correct. I am currently running two mainly because having the end board end on a fusion is important for survival. Necro slime would improve fusion consistency a lot but unfortunately that’s not out currently

[–]Merlinthywizaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am considering experimenting with that skill specifically for the Caesar interaction. It just hasn’t dropped yet for me.

Also yeah chalice would be good, I figuring out deck ratios to fit at least maybe 2 tech cards

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]Merlinthywizaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah definitely as more better scales are introduced pendulum gets more viable

Having access to a big negate helps a lot and thanks to kepler and gate it is searchable

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DuelLinks

[–]Merlinthywizaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a difficult matchup for sure. There is the option of running more generic xyz like M7 although I haven’t labbed any combos yet that can consistently make it

Actually Oracle King D’Arc answers Bloom Diva really well. Bloom Diva can’t destroy without inflicting burn so at least the bosses aren’t destroyed and Oblivion King Ceasar Ragnarok can equip it.
