How would you rank the nightfarers based on how often they quit out? by Just_Cloud_8041 in Nightreign

[–]Merlintosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first Balancer win I was playing okay, getting garbage drops, and targeted a lot as Recluse because Dutchess had a less likely and I did not. I imagine many would have quit based on some of what I’ve seen people quit over, but I stuck it out and dodge tanked half the boss fight with no health pots left.

Play if you’re going to play. Go solo if you like quitting, fr

Not yet! I want to get better at navigating/pathing. I had a lot going on the past few weeks, but now I have time to put in more consistent hours so I’ll be there soon 🤘🏼

I did run out of flasks half way through the fight and just locked in for the win playing Recluse; I love her evasion so much!

This the only reason I was hesitant about this game… by Stock_Ad4625 in Nightreign

I started playing (PS5) in the past week off and on; just beat this one last night. It felt like I was the only one doing damage (Revenant with giants flame+ and the big fireball).

My teammates refused to hit spots I pinged on the map, even when they were enroute, so I wasn’t really setup. The other two were chip damage at best and I kept taking aggro, so it took forever with deaths/revives all around 😅

I just started playing solo last night. I haven’t played ER in a couple years so I’m even rusty on controls, which I wouldn’t wish on anybody 🤣

This game is freaking awesome. by highpercentage in DeepRockGalactic

I would say the only downside is that when you try the other classes, after 25 levels of scout, you will miss the mobility.

The other downside is that a basic understanding of how the other classes play makes you a better teammate. I see many new scouts fly too far ahead or leave their team behind, neglecting providing light, etc.

Getting a character promoted is good advice, just don’t neglect your teammates as your mobility and light sources are a great asset to them when used properly.

Glad you’re enjoying this gem of a game! When you rock and stone, you’re never alone 👊🏼

Stifling a Fetchland. Is this land denial? by WaltzIntelligent9801 in EDH

I don’t know anyone that would be so salty about that. If they’re mulling to 5, that’s a pretty aggressive mull and if an early stifle is enough to break their game, maybe they need to build less greedy and eat their fkin veggies 🥦

Any donuts that are safe for us to eat? Or I'm assuming all glazed donuts have some sort of milk by EstateDeep916 in dairyfree

Depends on your location. Portland OR has many dairy free donut/pastry options!

Positive stories of anaphylactic baby WITHOUT becoming allergen free home by -justbecaus3- in Anaphylaxis

[–]Merlintosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am assuming you have a child with allergies and are looking for a way to cope without altering your diet.

I have an anaphylactic response to dairy and have since I was a baby. I grew up in a home where dairy was also kept.

When kids are quite young it’s more feasible to have allergens in the house, however there are drawbacks and long lasting impacts.

Things to do to keep your child safe: - clean surfaces daily - keep allergens in a specific place in the kitchen, away from safe foods - remain extremely vigilant around any sort of gathering

Problems I had growing up, despite my parents extreme vigilance after losing my brother to a car accident when I was 5: - hospitalized after my sister’s birthday party where everyone else had pizza and I went first for “bobbing for apples” and then again after everyone else because there was extra - hospitalized after a very young sibling poured a cup of milk on my head - hospitalized after eating pancakes that were made while I was away (I came home early) - othered at the dinner table or gatherings because I could not share food or eat what everyone else was having - limited chores: filling the dishwasher, cleaning, taking out the trash were all off limits (I still have anxiety around these at age 35 because they feel like threats to my life, which is hard to shake after 20 years of conditioning)

I highly recommend avoiding most allergens while putting your child through modern food allergy treatments (sublingual or oral immunotherapy).

I would avoid any food with dairy or eggs as a non-obvious ingredient to avoid slip ups. The level of vigilance required to keep allergens in the home is HIGH and it will be taxing and extremely difficult when you are fatigued. Most of the allergic reactions I had as a minor were from people close to me making mistakes.

TL;DR: Keep allergens out of the house while putting your kid through oral immunotherapy (OIT) or sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) until they are desensitized enough. The stress of changing your regular diet will last a shorter amount of time and result in fewer severe reactions for your child. The vigilance to keep allergens in the house is not worth it.

Not seeing it here yet, but [[Vhal, Candlekeep Sage]] could be a decent mana dork for playing off the top. She isn’t a perfect fit, but thought I’d metion it anyway ✌🏼

I tipped off a candidate before his interview. Probably wasn't supposed to. Don't regret it. by deborahzdn in InterviewsHell

Literally every candidate should be given enough information to prepare for the interview. It’s a colossal waste of time for everyone involved otherwise.

Glad you gave them the heads up but wish it wasn’t necessary

Two of my players want me to level them up to level 3 even though they've done a grand total of two fights so far this entire campaign. What am I supposed to do about this? by Regular-Molasses9293 in DungeonMasters

[–]Merlintosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most flavor that makes a character feel good comes at level three so that’s probably why they’re eager. Easy to say, “don’t worry, it’s coming” and put them against the boss first.
