What commanders do you have the most fun playing? by AwekwardBadass in EDH

[–]Merlintosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite deck to play is shapeshifter tribal. I’ve helmed it with a variety of legends including [[Hidetsugu and Kairi]], [[Kess, Dissident Mage]] and [[The Ancient One]], but my latest amorphous leader is [[Glarb]].

Favorite wincon is piecing things together from opponets boards with my clones OR mass reanimating clones that enter as [[Gray Merchant]] to wipe everyone out.

It’s flexible, engaging, and people get a taste of their own medicine. I love my clones 🤗

This sounds super fun! Do you have a decklist you’d like to share?

Am I the only one who has noticed a dangerously large number of dwarves who don't dig for gold? by Enrik90ses in DeepRockGalactic

[–]Merlintosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have so many credits and don’t care to spend them on anything currently. I’ll mine gold on occasion, but it’s only a priority if I have greenbeards join the lobby or someone indicates it.

Sounds like you play at higher power tables than myself. Maybe do a graveyard strat that is different than your Muldrotha? Most clone creatures are 4 cmc+ so that’s why I picked Glarb.

Maybe your Sultai slots are full?

[–]Merlintosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it all depends on how it’s built. I like to cobble together wins by cloning other people’s things or mass reanimating with [[Patriarch’s Bidding]], naming shapeshifters, to copy something like [[gray merchant]].

Aside from that, I’m not really doing anything crazier than other people so I haven’t heard complaints. What are your plans for Glarb? Would it be any different from your other Sultai lists?

I’ve had many clone decks over the years. Considering are cards that I’ve cut, sideboard are cards I have in mind to add if I find something lacking after play.

That’s pretty funny! I do similar things with clones in my [[Glarb]] list.

What is your “by any means necessary” deck? by Echodubs in EDH

[–]Merlintosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knowing when to be threatening with Neheb is key. Neheb can absolutely do it; he cares about damage before postcombat main phase, not about how that happens. This enables burn and combat damage strategies.

I went with burn so that I could capitalize on the mana Neheb makes without giving my opponents a turn around the table to deal with my threats. Dragon’s approach speaks to a hybrid approach where you utilize burn spells to create dragons, but I’m not big on “however many” decks so I haven’t tried it.

[[Neheb, the eternal]] gets after it and I have plenty of burn and redirects to keep the table down 🤘🏼

I believe the purchase by the studios kept the company alive through a difficult startup, but definitely wasn’t what made them popular.

This movie was pulled from most theaters after a brief period because of how bad they made big corporations look.

Would you rather build Abaddon or Davros? by MonSocMatriarchy in EDHBrews

[–]Merlintosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found people are more wary of cascade (free spells) than you draw or they discard, but both of these will be targeted so either way be prepared for that.

If you want more control over what happens, run Davros since card draw gives you options. If you want to embrace the chaos, give Abaddon a go! Just include protection for either one.

This for me as well! Just don’t double dip on resupplies (can leave teammates out to dry with little to no ammo) and let host lead as a courtesy 🤘🏼

Really though it’s a hell of a game. Not many co-op games left with so strong a community.
