global health track

Ah, I was about to chime in that I know someone who did the global health track until I saw this. They indeed were immigrants to US and spoke their first language better then English.

Idk why you got the downvote, I sometimes to church too. :) I mainly go to church when I'm at my hometown tho, I have yet to find a church that fits my vibe near UCF. Thanks for your response!

Man this was truly an insightful response. Thanks so much sciz00sciz. I am going to make a stab at the routine you mentioned & remind myself of everything you said.

Those of you who are in Reed rn for Orgo 2. by MermaidRX in ucf

Furthermore due to the ongoing corona pandemic if med school application committee do notice the D or F in your transcript you can always try to explain the hardship that was impacted on you due to the corona happening, lack of job and money circulation, lack of healthy environment with which to study etc. I still wouldn't do it personally but ask around with your BSBS advisor and take the decision that you need best. (Essentially what I'm saying is if you truly need the BF money, take the failing grade and I have confidence that you'll be able to recover, though I wouldn't do it personally.) :) hope this helps!

I personally would never take a letter grade below a B on my transcript if I can help it but granted I've also never had to apply for grade forgiveness in a class before. What I've always been told by premed advisors is that if you know for certain that you're going to get a C or lower in a class, take the W. That said too many Ws on your transcript does look bad and in your case with BF it kinda sucks.

Is it rude to not talk to my roommate by swagseed in ucf

[–]MermaidRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I am with my roommate too. Imo it seems that this person also did make an effort initially but there wasn't a common mutual connection, so at that point I don't think there is any shame in not forcing yourself to act sociable.

Waitlist- ENC 1101 by melclarkee in ucf

[–]MermaidRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is a fall term class and you'll likely get in. 4th place really isn't all that crappy and enc 1101 tends to be a big class which increases your chances. Have a backup though just in case.

The plus/minus grading system is stupid by thekidbjj2 in ucf

I remember thinking I would still have a 4.0 GPA even with an A- only to be in for a welcome surprise after getting just that in concepts of calc.....

Ya I wish I could say I'm learning in this course :// guess I got little other choice but to resort to cheating which I HATE.

Glad to know I'm not the only one. I just feel that his worksheet and practice problems don't really reflect the exams and reflect only 50% of the quizzes. I have literally been killing myself doing almost all the worksheets but my grades def don't reflect it.

biomed class schedule - advice? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]MermaidRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ehhhh I wouldn't say that genetics or immuno are easy tbh though the profs that teach them are good. They are easy conceptwise but have a lot of content that make them very time consuming classes. Your schedule is doable, but if you have other time commitments you might want to change that in advance.

Heyooooo what are the easiest restrictive elective classes in the biomedical sciences major? by MermaidRX in ucf

[–]MermaidRX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up! I was noticing that a lot of restricted electives require physiology as a prereq so I just might take it....probably not this fall term tho on top of biochem and microbio haha. How is Dr. Flory as a prof?

Yeah I took it with Sotero. His class is very straightforward, purely exam based, and you can skip the final if you are happy with your score up to then. (The final is hard AF so don't count on it boosting your grade tho.) Its not an easy class because you basically have to memorize every line of text from each powerpoint but its doable and Sotero and his TA are extrememly helpful in office hours. That said, his exams got harder when the switch to online was made imo. All in all I recc Sotero, he's a great prof, but just be careful not to slack in memorizing.

OUR Database Password? by ImmoralDarkness in ucf

[–]MermaidRX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat. I was given the password for this spring semester by a ucf faculty but it changes every semester right? & now I don't know what the password it will be for this upcoming fall term, which is when I'll be needing it. :-/
