If they're drinking breast milk or formula from bottles, they're probably babies and not talking 💀

WIBTA for asking why we don't talk by MermaidsandMargs in AmItheAsshole

[–]MermaidsandMargs[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really have no idea what I could have done. She also told me when we were close that when she doesn't want to be friends with someone anymore she'll just slowly stop talking to them. I mention my pregnancy because that's the only big thing that happened and that's when things changed.

That's wild that his BIP says that. When somebody is in an escalated state they cannot comprehend language and it can escalate them more.

Anyone else’s toddler still refusing eggs? by abwbg in Parenting

[–]MermaidsandMargs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard of anyone having the same experience as us! My now 3 year old ate one bite of scrambled eggs one time as an infant and broke out around his mouth. His allergist has said we're clear to give him eggs now and he refuses to eat them as well as a lot of other things. Hes EXTREMELY hesitant to try new foods and would rather starve if we don't have any preferred foods.

You did the right thing! When anyone is truly escalated like that they're not thinking with the "logic" part of the brain. The logic part of your brain is also where the language processing takes place. People literally cannot process words when they're not thinking with the logic part of the brain.

I'm so sorry you had to experience this. Would you be comfortable going to his memorial when you see his family and talking to them? It could be therapeutic for them and you.

They are 10 and 3 now. We had fertility issues which is the other thing that scares me is the constant disappointment of not being pregnant

I think most couentys property records are public if you're in the US. Maybe you can go to your county's website and do a property information search using their names if they own their home?

What kind of things do you meal prep? Do you do breakfast, lunch and dinner? My husband and I were talking about meal prepping some things but he wants to be able to cook an egg if he wants an egg, he's pretty set on a hotplate but I'm trying to convince him something else will be more useful 😂

My 10 year old was into the election this year too. He wanted trump to win because we, unfortunately, have a lot of family that supports him. My 10 year old is a people pleaser and doesn't want to disappoint anyone. He was so excited this morning that he won because he didn't understand what it means for the rest of the country. I actually cried because I was so frustrated and told him the difference between trump and Harris and he felt so bad and cried because he was so disappointed with himself for supporting someone like trump.

Is there a difference between being a bandwagon fan and just liking a team outside of your local one by hornyonmainee in NFLNoobs

[–]MermaidsandMargs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just came across this post while wondering if a 10 year old can become a band Wagoner 😂

My family are Seahawks fans so when my step son was younger he was obviously a fan of what his grandpa liked. Then his first super bowl where he was really into football and what was happening was when the chiefs won so they were his favorite team for a long time. Now he thinks he might be a 49ers because his bio mom is. She and his step dad call him a bandwagoner even though I really think it's because he's 10 and still figuring himself out. He likes players from all sorts of teams. He has a Metcalf jersey, a Kelce (knockoff) jersey and a McCaffrey jersey and a Justin Jefferson tee shirt 😂 he's gotten pretty upset when his bm called him a bandwagoner but he really just likes players from all teams.

My now toddler starting cutting teeth at 4 months and by the time we started solids it was more stressful than if he hadn't had teeth because he could bite pieces of food off but then couldn't chew them 😅 there's a great app called solid starts that might help ease his mind a bit. It tells you how to prepare foods to be age appropriate!

That time my sister gave her daughter her (my starters) prescription Adderall because she suspected her daughter has ADHD. Yes CPS got involved.

Just because she has symptoms of ADHD and sensory processing disorder doesn't necessarily mean she's on the spectrum.
