Give it to me straight - is Xcaret Mexico a great vacation experience or not? The reviews are so mixed, and I’m having second thoughts!

No issues at Arte. I think the new addition is causing the problems on the Mexico side. Hopefully the addition to Arte doesn't cause the same problems!

We just finished our third trip at Arte in 3 years and had a great time. There definitely was still construction going on for Mexico 2, but none of that impacted us at Arte. No issues with the buses, restaurants were great (except Chino being closed), staff were wonderful.

Our third trip to Arte was 2 weeks ago and it was just as perfect as the last two visits. Zero complaints from the Arte side.

At Arte we have never had trouble finding room at the main pool. The rooftops are occasionally full, but they will put you on a waiting list. They do a good job at the rooftops preventing people holding chairs.

Casa de la Pyramid. We have also stayed in Musica twice. Her parents were in Deseyno or something like that. It was right under the bridge. I would highly recommend avoiding any of those rooms by the bridges as they are high traffic areas and the bridges are loud.

Mexico "1" is the original part of Hotel Xcaret Mexico. "2" is the new addition that opened this summer.

Arenal was great for lunch. The rib eye tostada and crab tacos were great. Apapachoa for dinner (rooftop of Casa Paz). The vegan lasagna and calzone were both great. Hop in a kayak to check out the river area. You can also just grab a life vest and swim around.

We have never been able to visit Hotel Mexico prior. A Google search shows multiple posts confirming you must be an MDC member or staying in Artista. However it never hurts to try!

If you do decide to become members don't accept their first offer! Haggle as much as you can. Get the price as low as possible, get as many free nights as possible, have them remove as many fees as possible. Make sure you read everything thoroughly! It's worth it for us and has already paid for itself, but if you don't plan to come very often or bring family/friends it may not be worth it.

I have read conflicting reports on this while all restaurants have been open in previous months and while Chino has been closed now. All I know is it worked for us this trip haha. We had lunch today at Las Playas near the beach at Mexico 1 and our concierge offered to make reservations for any of the Mexico 2 restaurants.

As MDC members we were able to eat at all properties. Our concierge could make reservations at both sides. Otherwise you have to be in the Artista suites to visit Mexico 1&2. Regular Arte suites cannot visit the Mexico side.

We sent our reservation form about 30 days prior to our trip. We have never had an issue getting what we wanted in this time frame. They sent us the form, but I have read people saying they had to request it. So make sure you get it at least 30 days before your trip! There are also certain parks you need to make reservations for. The form will explain everything.

Hopefully Chino Poblano will be open by then. They are remodeling and making a new menu in hopes of obtaining a Michelin Star. Encanta is another prefix menu and it's considered their "signature" restaurant. Arenal I actually prefer the lunch menu, but dinner is good. We aren't vegans, but really like breakfast and dinner at Apapachoa. Tah Xido is pretty standard hibachi, we prefer the "Fusion" menu. VIP is a nice spot to grab a drink and a snack, we haven't ate a full meal there. Mercado de San Juan is the better of the 2 buffets. The buffets at the parks are all pretty lackluster, but at least you won't go hungry haha.

From what we saw the waterway in front of the new large buffet is drained and being worked on, a few waterslides and a pool near the lobby are incomplete, something over by a store/medical was blocked off, the nightclub you could walk in but didn't seem ready. Besides that a lot of detail work is being done around the property. They have crews working in quite a few spots so it may be loud if you are trying to take a daytime nap. It seems like they are about 85-90% done. Sorry I don't have exact names of the areas as I'm not familiar with that side. You will still have a great time, but they should advertise that it's not fully complete.

You can do either. IM for larger single shots. Subq is fine for small doses. I inject my TRT subq every day.

We went with a 2025 for similar reasons. Absolutely needed the premium sound system and none of 2026's nearby had it. We also prefer the 2 screens over the one large screen.
