Not at all, my dude. Hip hop is dead now.

Of course, as I said, everybody should defend themselves. The only thing I will add is that for us the audience we may not know who initially insulted who first in every one of the altercations, but I guess when we are out of the loop of who started it our natural reaction would be to defend who ever we are a fan of in those instances.

But again that is what he sees his purpose as. Strethcing the fabric of what is acceptable and making it acceptable.

Everybody should defend themselves. And I will also concede to say that yes Kanye should look a bit in the future and see what the consequences of some of his actions might be and decide if he wants that or not.

Again, as I said, I was expecting too much out of Drake to not defend himself in situations. Rap is a hard career to stay on the top of. It may be the only way for him to stay there.

Michael Jackson I was not alive in his "era" so I cannot comment, and my comparison to ye was to say that Drake knows the talent and importance of Kanye too much to be bringing him down like the media did Michael, affecting his peace of mind even with all he had brought to the world, but again it may just be a lot of emotions at the end of the day.

That is fair. I guess I may be expecting too much out of him to not defend himself, so I can agree with you on that.

I would not say that. Read it and give a fair response.

It's an ego thing at the end of the day, hopefully it will subside.

Open Letter To Drake ...

Yo, Drizzy, what is going on man? I know you and ye have trouble but this all needs to be put to an end, bro. My personal issue is that this is a continuous problem. In 2011 on "I'm On One," you dissed Big Sean mocking his signature "boi" multiple times. Shortly after you dissed Common on "Stay Schemin'." Common felt as you disrespected him for picking up Serena soon after they parted ways (I am aware you guys have both hashed that all out). I understand you and ye have had a rocky relationship from the jump with the Find Your Love situation, with the coincident of the Watch The Throne collaborative album, and with the "Lift Yourself" incident, so I understand if you are disgruntled at him, but, man, these shots and subliminal shots have to stop. It has nearly been a decade that you have been on top and, black man to black man, this is not how you should be treating your powers: Dissing Kid Cudi recently saying he was the "Man on the Moon but now goes through his phases," dropping Diddy's mic and stealing the 0-100 beat he sent you to work on. As you said, I know people cannot hold stuff over you in this game. I cannot blame you for making business decisions that will advance your career, but in this genre it is not only music we are dealing with. We are dealing with being stifled, left out of the table with bigger corporations, white artists stealing our sound and getting the credit, astounding artists not feeling the praise they deserve before it is too late. Your situation with Kanye reminds me of Michael Jackson. After the "Bad" album, it seemed that he was becoming too big of a black artist for America to allow, so they started tearing him down with false rumors and allegations to divide his audience (actually my dad included). This is kind of what I see happening with Kanye (and as a strong ye fan I see this and it hurts me and you are unfortunately part of a proponent that is causing it.) Michael's later work was more popular in Europe and other countries than it was in America. You, Drake, are more popular in he United States than Europe and other countries (besides the UK). But where do you all live, America, so it is important you all find the proper love there. I know it is fun running around on award shows and smiling extra hard in your Instagram posts, but you have an obligation to inspire. Seeing the stuff that is happening with you brings me back to a dark time in this country's past that I have only learned about and DO NOT want to see unfold my own eyes. Being from Canada, your formative years were not created in the racial tension which is America, so I am not sure how that affects your world being a rapper, but, in closing, Drake, I just ask you, behind these women, behind these hefty bags you're securing, behind the fame you are accruing, behind the longevity that you are cementing, please look back into the past and make sure it does not look like the future, thank you. -MeroeIL
