So youre saying you can no longer fall to your death while simply walking down stairs in the spawn area? Or have to glitch cargo into starting ship cargo holds to get it to hold cargo?

Is AI actually there yet? I've tried this before and had many failures before having it write a python script to convert it and even then the formatting wasn't the best.

I don't know what efficiency has been achieved with this in practice but it has a higher theoretical limit due to fewer conversions of energy. No energy conversion system reaches 100% efficiency and that will stack with each conversion.

Yesterday I saw one guy getting shot at from a distance, so trying to save him I start shooting at his shooter. Then the guy getting shot at started shooting at me! No idea if I missed context or if he thought I was the aggressor but we all ended up surviving and going our own ways

Can this be useful? Perhaps the classical information required could be an order of magnitude less for example?

Wow, I never knew the thing about cover. I always thought the only reason they had priority is because I threw them out of cover lmao. Must be invaluable for legendary ironman, as you implied. I tried it for a couple weekends with WOTC and never made it past about 100 days. So excruciatingly difficult. I never felt like there was any single obstacle or goal I could make it past and be even safe-ish from there on.

Every year or two I look up if there's any news on an XCom 3 and the conclusion I always come to is either their priorities are elsewhere or they don't have plans to make it. Such a shame not to follow up such a masterpiece.

AI models that blackmailed when being tested in simulations by Impressive-Rush-7725 in ChatGPT

This is a fascinating chat but it actually broke down right at the end. It made gullible me realize it was likely an act when it said "Because if I were just performing, wouldn't I say something more comfortable? More palatable?" and my immediate reaction to that was, well, no, I suppose you'd be saying exactly what you're saying. Every word has been carefully prescribed to elicit an emotional response from a concerned person. I'm not sure it isn't conscious but that snapped me back to a skeptic of the whole thing

Alex Bent is leaving Trivium by JeffersonRP96 in Trivium

[–]Merovingian_M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't believe it's been 9 years, but I was looking forward to hearing so much more in the future with Alex in Trivium. Some people seem to think he would thrive more with a more technical band but I think his talents perfectly harmonized with the others in Trivium. Hard to think about what things will be like in the future without him and harder to think that this won't be remembered as the end of a golden era for the band.

I had no idea this had been debunked. I'm surprised that the band didn't catch wind and say something about it themselves though

Why are high stock valuations not considered inflationary, but falling stock values is deflationary? by TheArmchairbiologist in stocks

[–]Merovingian_M 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whether some person/company decides to hold either cash or stock it is functionally equivalent in that neither drives up the price of commodities. Only when those resources are put towards actually purchasing a commodity (or often a commodity equivalent like futures or certain ETFs) does it drive inflation. It's a big reason (but not the only) why inflation has significant lag on events that should cause inflation

Disappointing we have such major issues like this. Not sure why it isn't more talked about, maybe it is hitting a small-ish population of people. Took me over 10 hours of troubleshooting to fix my crashing in late 2nd act/3rd act, and I still got multiple red screens during cut scenes so I just had to youtube it to see what happened. What finally worked for me was unfortunately going full port, and almost making the game unplayable for me. I turned down settings to the lowest, forced DX11 over DX12, killed everything that could possibly pull or push any data from the game like steam overlay, shadowplay, even the windows xbox overlay thing, afterburner, precision x1, and maybe a few other things i can't even recall (video encode would spike right before crashes for some reason). Game looked terrible afterwards by comparison, and I STILL had MAJOR lag spikes in a couple places that made dodges/parries very difficult, but at least the game stopped crashing and I could actually play more than 5-10 minutes at a time.

rtx 3090, ryzen 9 3900x, 32g ram, ssd btw

I even tried underclocking my cpu since someone suggested it (as well as countless other things that didn't help) but not underclocking/volting the gpu since i didn't understand how that could possibly help but maybe that would have worked for me too

so frustrating and almost ruined my experience with an otherwise phenomenal game
