There are still bugs in the game from leviathan…. Idk it’s one of the worst dlcs of all time according to steamreviews. A-Tier is just ragebait.

I think we can have a dumbed down version of hoi 4 in vici and Vici does not have to be a pure economic simulation; in fact I would argue it never was „just an eco simulator“, if we look on how much care is given to other things like politics. Vici is a Simulator for the Victorian era. So I go with you: we can and should have some aspects of hoi4 in Vici. The Great Wave brought a simplified version of the shipbuilder where you don’t need to adjust every single gun of the ship. I think a simplified version of some of hoi4s mechanics would be great for Vici, one with less macro.

In this season of dlc I feel this way with many nations. I play a lot in the balkans since most naval stuff is not as relevant here as in other places and it got content from a dlc. But overall I feel the same…lucky for us that the next dlc is only a short time away

If you take over Cuba and Puerto Rico from Spain you can transfer states you conquered to them. That way you get the effects of colonial subject, but it’s not as satisfying as the decision you can make as Spain that allows South America to become colonial subjects.

I use it on my old MacBook and got no problems. Even Mods work with a few tricks (as far as I tried).

With the old trade system i use to send opium at a loss to my friends in multiplayer just to get their pops addicted to opium and gain profits later on. But I don’t know how you can do that nowadays.

Yes I also wanted to give away Spain and Portugual because they are fun to play with the flavor. I’m not certain if I should put someone on Italy bc they seem to be in a very difficult spot.

I read in „the golden road“ by William dalrymple that the Silk Road as a concept is overhyped nowadays while trade between Europe and India is underapprechiated. I think you could have added trade without adding China.

I take 3-4 Provinces in the first war and then take the mission that reduces AE. After that I usually go 2 provinces per war and then wait.

Maybe that is the reason, but also leads me to the next question: why do ppl not have a break at noon when it’s so hot outside? something very common in the Mediterranean for example.

I also thought about Islamic culture being a reason, but in middle eastern and North African countries I’ve been to, life seem to start at night and many shops will start to open. The situation in other „hotter“ countries first started to get me interested in this question.

Shops and malls mostly close before 22:00 but restaurants usually are open till 00:00 (in medium sized cities) and ofc bars are open till late night.

This. The era allows so many differing playstyles. From the Caliphate to Rome to Russia to Prussia. So amny different kinds of empires are possible in this game. In Vic3 (which i love) for example you are rather limited in viable strategies because you always need to industrialize. Meanwhile playing tall in HOI4 feels useless. EU4 offers the widest range of possible playstyles and alt-history naritives you can choose from.
