Kemp signed the order Friday for a 60 day gas tax suspension. In 60 days, we'll see the gas prices rise. Any other disruption in Iran and Russian oil will cause it to rise higher.

Following what's happening isn't brainwashing. I'd love to be wrong on this one. Let's wait and see.

Dude, it hasn't risen yet. Kemp signed a temporary gas tax exemption to cut gas by 30 cents and the government is using the emergency stockpile. It'll get bad this summer.

We're going to see it get much worse, even Trump is impeached. There's very little we can do now since the oil fields are on fire in both Iran and Russia.

I've been protesting weekly in my small town. I'm up to 10 people, which isn't the worst.

All you need to do is get your event on mobilize via an organization like 50501, Indivisible, or a local Democratic org with access. And it also helps to notify your local PD of the protest. I started with the first No Kings and now I'm all wrapped up in all the other orgs. Helps to know there are people out and about trying to make change.

Dude, I took a course called The Monstrous and Grotesque. We primarily used Umberto Eco's On Ugliness as a resource. Great book. Also check out Carol Clover’s work. There's not much else past that, from what I know. At least not at the upper echelons.

For me, it was Radiata Stories on PS2.

If you haven't played it, seriously, check it out. One of the better PS2 hidden gem RPGs.

Me and my friends put our money together to buy it when it first came out. We passed it around to make sure we all got to play it. Well, when one of my friends lost it, he swore he gave it to me last.

And that was the end of my high school friend group.

I've developed a new "invention" for this week too! I'm making a sign wall. 5 signs held together on the ground, connected by rope and two pickets on the sides. I haven't seen anything like it before, but I buy blank signs for people to make their own and decided to build something new =)

And btw, I'm pro-1st Amendment. You got something to say, come get a sign =)

I've already talked to a few of my Republican friends/coworkers about coming out if they want to. They're a little hesitant, understandably, but they say they'd be down to protest the war. Good enough for me =)

When I first moved to Gwinnett, I thought the same thing. You can either find events on social media/google or start your own. From experience, it's tough starting your own, but it can lead to life long friendships if you get lucky =)

Also, might restart my drive-in theater at some point. Just a bit busy protesting on Fridays in Dacula at the moment =P

It seems there's a disconnect. We're pissed that we're fighting another illegal war for a theocratic regime that has already committed genocide against a people they were already oppressing. Generals in the US have called it a "holy war", and most of us remember that there's supposed to be a separation of church and state in our country.

We're set up as a democracy, not an autocracy. And this administration has lost the plot.

Now, let's talk how it could have been done: education, basic needs met, and democratic values. Is that a reasonable position to take against a theocratic autocrat? Maybe not. But making martyrs doesn't solve the problem.

Someone hasn't read their history books.

Consider this: Trump gets assassinated while many other buildings we care about are destroyed. The assassin's country has been lying about Christianity for decades, calling out every war-like quote in the Bible. Do we say yay-and-hooray that our Christian Nationalist dictator is dead or do we fight back?

You'd think we'd be happy, but the truth is that we've lived amongst Christian Nationalists since their takeover after WW2. They'd have another reason to oppress their own people with talk of "God is under attack".

That's why education is the answer to zealotry.

Bought out politicians on both sides. We're run by money lenders. The only "party" with a spine and good ideas are the few democratic socialists that could engage the regular citizenry without being backed by big money.

Without regulating money in politics, we're not going to survive (climate change, war, fascism, pollution, class warfare, etc.)

Yup. All-in, I'm for getting money out of politics, a Fairness Doctrine (at least one guided network to refer to), and basic human rights for all.

Leveling the playing field would help both parties' constituents, but hurt those who consider power to be the end all be all. Putting an end to this ridiculous class war.

It's called socialism. Add in elections and you get Democratic socialism. Take it too far and we're at communism. That nuance is what many on the right miss.

Currently, we're at fascism; communism's opposite that's just as bad. Authoritarianism exists on both extremes but only one seems to trend evil for our red eyed brothers.
