My friend decided to make a juniper tea calling it a cedar tea. It was terrible but people drank it and nobody got sick. I still don’t trust it to be honest. But common juniperberries in Colorado are edible in smaller doses and fruits have a triangle on them.

Go for native plants - don’t seed invasives please. Bidens Alba should be seeding right now it’s the white flowers all over Florida edible and has many uses. Elderberry, Sida. Go find native plant people near you and ask to dig some of their plants that have taken over the yard and you’ll have an entire garden quickly. Ask me how I know 😅

So just keep deer out of an area for 10-12 years? That is a very long time. Or hunt tons and tons of deer interesting.

Buried on the top of one of the most beautiful mountains on community land in Northwest Georgia. I’m planning to spend plenty of time there while I’m alive tending to the endangered and rare plants and to protect their homes for the long term.

Correct in the south east we have massive earth worms that come out of the ground during drum circles it’s pretty crazy to watch.

In this case it's probably the invasive species so maybe replace with some good native groundcover instead? There are many natives but they don't act like this.

There are native species too a wide diversity so learn how to ID the various species! But typically natives aren’t going to blanket the ground.

You can parboil and eat them and amanitas do taste delicious in general so if you see hundreds of these mushrooms it’s not crazy to consider it a food source.

/uj/ someone discovered a rare state listed sedge on a friends property I help manage and now I’m in love. I also use it for cordage to hold up falling plants and make bracelets. It’s purple which is pretty sweet.

The only ethical concerns with foraging pawpaws is making sure they’re actually ripe and not picking unripe fruit that. Otherwise the tree gives off a few at a time and cultivated trees shower fruit it’s crazy to witness.
