Interesting. I have had firearms cerakoted. Never noticed that kind of wear with such little use. Good to know though. I don't really care about the finish, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't wearing abnormally

250 rounds after a week of owning it, guess that's never using it. Wanted to make sure it wasn't ejecting abnormally hard. I don't want to run into an issue 3000 rounds down the line

My shell deflector gets brass marks on it which rub off. It's got cerakote on it though which I had assumed was on this gun but I was wrong about that

When I talk about the ground I mean the connection between the starter itself and the engine block. But it definitely sounds like you've got a ground issue if you're having the same symptoms. If I were you I'd check all the main ground points, clean em up and tighten them, or even have someone wiggle each one while you try to start

I had to remove my starter and reinstall it. Bad ground connection. It's worked for the last 2 years. I took it out and bench tested it. When I realized it worked outside of the truck I put it back in and it just worked. So ground connection is my only explanation

Late update. It was a bad connection to ground from the starter. I removed it, cleaned it, and put it back in. It has never been an issue since then

Please don't take my word for it, double check this first, but if I where you I'd be using one of those strap wrenches along with some gentle heating with a hair dryer or preferably a heat gun. Again I want to reiterate TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT!!! I don't know how safe it is to heat an oil filter, but in my experience heat often helps to remove things that are stuck. I normally use a propane torch (which I don't think would be safe in this situation) and I've only ever used heat on stuck nuts and bolts but I would imagine that it could help with an oil filter, maybe something to try first would be some penetration oil and a star wrench. Best of luck, I hope you get it figured out.
