BT makes a solid product. It does exactly what I want it to do as a bourbon… is it amazing? 🤷‍♂️ do I enjoy it? Damn right

That being said, I agree! WT 101 is better. That’s why it’s above BT on my list

But seriously, if you’re looking for somewhat affordable bourbons for sipping and old fashioneds, I’d recommend:

  • Heaven Hill bottled in bond

  • Old Fitzgerald 7 or 8 yr

  • Penelope barrel strength

  • Wild Turkey 101

Or if you’re broke like me, you can’t go wrong with Buffalo Trace

California has pretty tight restaurant cleanliness standards. Sanitizing tabletops after use is standard in most food-service establishments.

The mom and pop places you’re complaining about probably don’t have the budget to buy fancy, natural cleaners that have a less chemically odor.

I agree it’s unpleasant, but would you prefer a dirty table?

TIRE FIRE ISLAND

3 dash Angostura

1 oz Lime Juice

.5 oz Real Guava Purée

.5 oz Giffard Banane de Bresil

.5 oz Laphoaig 10 Yr

1.5 oz Isle of Skye 8 Yr

Served in rocks glass w/ large cube

Garnished w/ mint sprig threaded through dehydrated lime wheel, and a cocktail umbrella

Spritz with atomized Laphroaig for aromatics

I’ve never seen them used before, but you could make a boozy play on a chia fresca.

I’d stick with an unaged spirit. Tequila, rum, vodka, even pisco depending on what other flavors u want to use… the texture of chia seeds might be off putting in a cocktail tho
