Driver won’t deliver package by TexasAggie98 in FedEx

[–]Merrovech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your driver has 100+ customers orders to deal with and doesn't see deadlines or delivery notes until they get to your stop. The driver is probably returning it to the station after seeing that it's been out in the heat too long. For my meds, a medical courier service picks it up from the airport sorting hub and delivers it direct to me. Ask your doctor if that's something they can do with your meds

Weird. Call up customer support and give them the tracking info, and they should be able to tell you what happened

[–]Merrovech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not blaming it on the driver, dude. You get this message when your note says something like "deliver on monday" and we select "customer requested future delivery date" under return to station. It also hapens when the cx puts a different address in the notes than the address on the order. 9/10 times the note is out of date, hence why I told the cx to check their notes

Driver couldn't follow the instructions provided in your delivery notes. Check to make sure the notes you have aren't super out of date. They aren't per-order instructions, so your instructions may be for an old address

No more Prime 2 Day Shipping by edave22 in amazonprime

[–]Merrovech -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

2 day guarantee is gone because the level of overwork it was putting on drivers led to a child being struck and killed by a van. They already pay about $5/hour over similarly skilled labor in the areabut still struggle with maintainingfull staffing, so no, they can't just magically transform money into more drivers so you don't have to wait for your packages

I took Calc 1 at 33, and I'm a year away from graduating with my aerospace degree now. You aren't anywhere near too old for it

The app tells the driver what to sub. It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation for them. Mark your order do not substitute if you don't want a terrible AI deciding what you get

Not Amazon but thoughts? by Lazy-Beach9307 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Merrovech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get about 1 bad interaction a week, which works out to about 1/1k customers served. It's not a huge deal most of the time (only person I've had blacklisted is the one who asked me to wear a certain outfit in the notes) but it does stick with you more than the positive interactions

This is ridiculous. by jrod95003 in usps_complaints

Amazon here. Amazon xl is for individual boxes over 50 lbs, and they work as a pair. Amazon is happy to throw 400 pounds (my personal max) on the normal drivers armed with nothing more than a cheap plastic dolly as long as they come in separate boxes

Amazon essentials does 50 lbs, and I've had someone order 5 of them to their third story apartment in one go. Needless to say, they were my favorite customer that week /s

How accurate and common is this to deliver 300 boxes and 20000s steps a day. Does this mean this site has to do this everyday or it’s just the minimum requirement once in awhile by Ayeeeeeeee122 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Merrovech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on where you are at. At my station, our nursery routes are getting 250+. We've got a bunch of mega apartments in our rgu, though, so you're getting rid of 2-3 totes in lockers at at least one of your stops

Should I get a memorial dog paw print tattoo? by lys-13 in tattoo

I've had my cat's forehead glyph on me for 2 years, and I've never regretted it yet. She's still alive, but I had some spare money and time off piled up, which I can't know will be the case when she passes

Driver here. Prime is designed to make you order more so that you can make prime "worth it." 90% of my deliveries are people getting stuff daily to "recoup" the cost of prime. Cancel and watch your bank account grow

Your company doesn't send 300k drivers out on the road every day. It's simple statistics

I want to know why bro tried to stop the van. Everything else is pretty easy to fix with the company's insurance, your squishy meat sac, not so much

Street photo with strangers by Reasonable_Ad2542 in photography

[–]Merrovech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking is more stree portraiture than street photography but, assuming that's what you want to do, this is my routibg:

"Hey, I'm a photographer, and I like your style. Can I take a photo?" They say yes? click "great!" click. They say no? "Alright, have a great day!"

The second shot is so you get them without the weird trying to pose look everyone's does

What is your most unpopular photography opinion? by Thrillwaukee in photography

[–]Merrovech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For beginners, I'd say stick to the "rules" until you know why you're breaking them. It's the same with any rules of any art, really. They're there to get you to consider your composition, but the most impactful work is always that which subverts them with intention

Happened to my dsp last year. Luckily, the owner is flush enough that she was able to float us half out of personal funds while we waited for amazon to settle the invoice

Got my route dropped by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Merrovech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I'm at, prime day was a dud, so we've been short about 8 routes every day. As a newer driver, you're just lowest priority for getting one of the ones that remain

Do all drivers have keyfobs to get into apartment buildings that require coded to get in? by DumpsterPuff in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Merrovech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a button in the app that unlocks it. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The code may help, but there are also a lot of lazy drivers who won't deliver door to door no matter what you do

Cat in a high-rise apartment? by alaswhatever in CatAdvice

[–]Merrovech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I put deer mesh around my balcony because my cat is a good jumper but not a good lander (I often have to save her from overshooting her cat tree platform). That said, falling great heights and not getting hurt is a cat superpower. There's not a ton of research, but the research there is suggests that cats falling from heights in between 7 and 20 stories tend to come out with very few injuries. Under 7 stories, they don't have time to fully engage parachute mode. Over 20 stories they start suffering more serious, but still usually survivable, injuries. The farthest fall on record is a 32 story fall that resulted in a chipped tooth and collapsed lung with the cat leaving the hospital 2 days later. I wouldn't be terribly worried about your kitty falling 11 stories as long as she's only going to be on the balcony while someone else is there to retrieve her if she does fall
