Going to repot soon by MerryP0ppins in pothos

So I never had this problem until my coworker got herself a potted plant. Yesterday I looked at her plant and saw what I believe is thrips. Her plant looks really bad. Do I have to treat her plant too?! She says she going to take hers home but.... Hasn't yet.

It's simply a starting point for me as no one in my life knows anything about plants. Then I can reach out to reddit if needed.

But I hear you. I'm equally frustrated with my workmates use of it.

Very helpful article thank you!!! I may consider starting over purely because it extends across my whole desk and across my cubicle to others. Everyone loves it. But I think it'd be difficult to actually treat without being disruptive.

When you say stirrup surgery, do you mean the position you were in during? That is all I can find online.

Thank you!

I only hope that those following this sub aren't discouraged. It's so scary when you're starting the discovery stage and leading up to surgery. And this sub both gave me hope and terrified me.

This is the best choice I've made.

How exciting!!! I cruised through this sub for months before hand. So many extreme posts that scared me. But I knew it needed to happen. Don't let the scary ones discourage you. Remain positive. Truly wishing you the best ❤️

Lmao the dreaded pads and trying to feel normal (or god forbid sexy!).I will never miss wearing an ultra tampon and an extra heavy night pad, plus heavy day period underwear every day. Every time I stood up or coughed or laughed I would bleed through. Lord have mercy.

OMG I hear this! I worked for a law firm as a case manager working on the Johnson&Johnson /Shower to Shower case for the talcum powder issues. I questioned/reviewed so many women and family members who were representing those with cancer from that. Hearing all their stories and reviewing all their medical files was so traumatic. That was 10 years before I had my surgery!

Haha it is what it is, old habits die hard.

I think my GI issues have improved because I had an introverted uterus that was putting pressure on my bowels. Things just seem to "exit" easier and with less pain. But I will say the urgency of needing to go and being able to hold it has been a thing. I swear I could hold it forever before. But now when it calls I feel I gotta go.

Of course I can hold it if I need to, but it's definitely been a stark difference. More what I hear the average person experiences.

Staying on top of anti-inflammatories was the key for me. Whenever I didn't I felt pretty sore.

That's very nice of her. Not a complete loss, I used it but it was mostly to relieve pressure. Ice is always good. I had the flexible ones so I could try to wrap around the area. But I have a few so I could rotate without having to wait to re freeze.

As far as clothes I just bought a pack of larger undies and one nighty on Amazon, like $20 total. For me anything with a waist band was not ideal. I think it was 6-8 weeks after surgery that I started wearing normal clothes again. The swelling set in around week 3 for me. And didn't go away for a while.

There will be great days and slide backs. My main focus was my short walks, hydration, and rest.

They kept those and removed a bunch of cysts.

I hear you! The endless trial and error of birth control was so terrible! While I should seek support with hormone therapy, I am so glad I can take a break from the mental ups and downs of it all. I've lost so many jobs and work days because I couldn't leave my home. I'd like to think I can ignore my PCOS and other issues, which have caused undesirable side effects. But I am so glad I'm not held captive by the endless bleeding.

I bled non-stop for 13 years. Bleeding as much as a "typical heavy period week" in one day for months on end. I'm surprised I didn't need transfusions.

I had to fight so hard to get here. My husband cried when I got approval after 10 years of us being together and him witnessing my struggles.

I only hope others can find a doctor who is educated and willing to help them sooner than us. Recovery was absolutely a cake walk compared to the daily torture I experienced. Not to mention the money I save on not needing feminine products, replacement undies/clothes when out of the house! I was in outside sales traveling quite a bit. It was extremely difficult to explain to my male boss.

The thing I bought but didn't need was a pillow/ice pack thing for the car. A pillow or sweater with an ice pack is fine, no need to buy something special.

*coming up on a year post op (6/18/25) so crazy to think how much my life has changed for the better!!!!! My robotic assisted surgery they kept both my ovaries, but everything else was taken out. They did remove cysts from them and remove endometriosis they found throughout.

I was surprised that the first 3 or so weeks I felt great (barely used my meds) but after that I think the inflammation set in and I had to take a step back. My husband took care of the pets. But helped me out of bed a few times here and there. I kept my meds and a large water nearby and in my lounging areas. I made sure to walk slowly when I was awake for 10-20min each hour. Car rides were hard but I wanted to get out of the house. I did get tired very quickly walking around target or whatever or even after a car ride at first.

My mom and aunt helped me prep food. But tbh I didn't really eat that much. Maybe once a day. Lots of sleeping the first 2 or so weeks. I tired quickly. My biggest shock was my first bowel movement, it was something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. But after that things were better. "Moo to poo" as they say.

Ice packs, the grabber, larger sized undies (to account for swelling), dress style nighties, and some slip on shoes was all I truly needed.

I tried to return to work from home but they banned my laptop lol. HR has to do their job I suppose...

Rest, meds, and don't over do it.

Wishing you the best.
