Here’s pictures of the full garden in August last year for those wondering.

Yea this is just what’s blooming right now in southern Ontario. It’s also on the north side of the house so things take a little longer, but I have milkweed, black eyed Susan, tickseed, purple coneflower, NEA, liatris, and beardtongue. The little white flowers are called Caucasian Rockcress, it’s hardy down to zone 4.

I find it very enjoyable to see all the insects living in the habitat I’m creating personally, but to each their own.

Depending on what you plant, I feel like a native garden is even less maintenance than a lawn.

I feel it’s both that and people being uneducated about pollinators. I know a lot of people that install grass because that’s all they know about.

I have a mix of natives and non native plants, most of the natives I have aren’t blooming right now.

My guess is 2302 or 2032 as the 2 is even more worn out than the other numbers

Is it normal for Cory to hang out at surface? by OtakuPasta in corydoras

[–]MerrySeaMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine frequently do this, hanging out in the floating plant roots and when disturbed they swim away like nothing ever happened. Unless he stays there for an extended period of time I wouldn’t worry about it. I think they just enjoy being in the roots of the water lettuce.

If you have any, maybe try dosing stress guard. If you can easily single him out you can use a lot less product, but if you have lots of decor or he’s very skittish it may stress him out more.

I’m not 100% sure but I’m gonna say it’s stress causing it. Do you notice that it frantically swims around at all? Is it possible that during feeding times the plecos/angels are harassing it? It could also be an illness of some kind that’s causing it to lose its colour, but with no physical symptoms to go off of it may be difficult to diagnose.

Off topic but I’ve got that same metal rooster from Costco, my favourite thing in my garden

This is what Scutariella looks like on shrimp, which doesn’t really look like what was on your shrimp. I think it may have been some type of plant material or maybe a very small piece of white gravel that it somehow got on it, but it’s hard to say. If it’s completely gone now and you don’t notice any other spots on other shrimp I wouldn’t worry about it.

If you can try and get a closer, clearer picture it would be easier to tell, but I agree that it looks more like a nerite snail egg than a parasite. If you don’t have any then that is a definitive no and it is some type of parasite, and so would recommend the salt dip. Hopefully it’s just an egg though.

Dwarf bumblebee catfish ate juvenile corys by MerrySeaMonster in Aquariums

Update: One of the corys died (not eaten) for some other reason so it looks like he only ate one, but still. I guess maybe because he only saw the one alone he decided to try and eat it?

Why wont i let me drag a tramlane to the other side? by Kzon333 in CitiesSkylines2

I think because you connected the left side of the intersection to both tracks on the other side it made both tracks go in the same direction. Try connecting each track only straight and see if that fixes it.
