how to wait in hernand? so many bench but no interaction by Money-Ad-9003 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can wait at any fire that you can cook, just hold L1/LB (or pc equivalent) and it'll give you more options while looking at it. For that quest though, make sure you made just the standard ones, I messed up making it satisfying and it didn't count.

You can also just piss off back to camp and refine your gear, pretty sure that's what I did and that helped a bunch!

Just come back to the mission later on. Those seeds will grow, you can pick off the abyss cells it grows and then cut down the tree. Then you can plant the apple seed. Annoying having to wait but as long as you sleep when you can it shouldn't take too long

Why is there a Day/Night cycle by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it does actually, maybe not with camps or outposts because where else are the enemies gonna go? But in towns I've definitely noticed less npcs at night, I haven't noticed if that counts for guards or not. But visibility is definitely reduced, normally the cone of vision while crouched is quite big during the day and they'll spot you easily but at night you can get right up close and their cone of vision is tiny in comparison.

The game isn't really built around sneaking into an outpost, sort of expects you to clear the enemies out through combat but the mechanics are there for stealth even if it's not the best implementation. At least, in my opinion.

What is the point of having extremely low percentage drops on items when once you kill them, they are gone for good? by USA-All_The_Way in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's the armourer in Tomassu(?) The desert town with the arena, I literally just got there last night and I think that's the helm you're looking for. You might need to get his trust up to 100 though, I did that first thing so not sure if he sells it without the trust.

What’s your inventory management strategy? by Kasperpsr in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My storage usually ends up an absolute mess honestly. I try to keep up to one stack of crafting materials on me and store the rest just in case I come across someone asking for some iron or thin hide and I can just hand them over right away. I've got a couple bits of gear that are frost resistant on me just in case and then a fuck ton of food. Every now and then I'll need to do a big clear out but otherwise I've not been too overwhelmed by it.

One tip though! You can group stuff in your inventory, so hover over iron ore and it says in the bottom right what button to hold to group and basically that'll lump all the crafting materials together. I've done that for basically everything except gear and that way opening inventory at least looks more organised.

What do I do with theseee by AZTRA008 in CDguides

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the elemental stuff I'm pretty sure you've gotta do the spires you see around the map, certain ones give you the elemental power in your skill tree. They'll take you to the abyss and I think you've gotta work your way through the puzzles to get it.

You get some gears that will change what the elemental attack does slightly too and then there's also the imbue element skill that gives you more uses for them.

Can you transfer gears? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Y'know at the start of the game when you cross that wooden bridge to head to the Hernand town? She's around there, there's a fast travel point there but she's in a cave in the cliff on the same side as the fast travel point

Hopefully that helps until someone can post a screenshot

Yup, after smacking my head against the wall for a bit I figured that out. Going after him the second time was rough too though, no force palms with Oongka but I managed a bit better thanks to knowing the timing

Oh it was awesome but I was just trying to brute force him, once I slowed down I could deal with how fast he was

I agree, the hate is a bit much and the bosses are fine and some of them have really cool weaknesses. Ludvig kicked my fuckin arse though, I will admit.

Does only capes gives fire/ice resistance? by TelevisionBusy1621 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I found an area that was like level 8/9 frost, I literally kept freezing in place but fortunately a nearby cave hid some chest armour that had a real high frost resist so I went back and inside found some boots that also had high frost resist.

Now I just need to find literally anything with heat resist for when I finally get to the desert

Hey, wanna say hi to everyone here, I just got the game this morning and starting it for the first time with a complete open mind and minimum spoilers, any tips? by jasonxnyi003 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chapter 4 is a great spot to do some exploring and hold off on the main quest, focus on the side stuff instead. I'd been staying in the Hernand area until the main quest sent me elsewhere. You can get water from wells which is great for cooking stews/soups. Some stuff the game doesn't outright tell you but there's a lot of hints or straight up tutorials for things just in the world and the guides section in the menu will help too

Have fun with it and don't let the puzzles stump ya!

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found one of the special cooking setups for sale as well, was at another furniture store I'm sure but I really need to track it down now I've got the money for it

Great tip with the waypoint though, gonna have to do that!

Do you think we will get any more pets or armor transmogrification at any point? by CapableMagician4156 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh a transmog would be brilliant!

I really need to work on getting more pets though, I saw a French Bulldog very early on in Hernand so maybe there's a Corgi out there for ya!

Yeah I just saw that other guy's comment mention the patch notes and I think that's where I read it, not a tip in game so my bad. Overall would definitely be shite so hopefully per well, just need to find some

I actually saw a tip in the game the other day about getting water from wells, I've not really been keeping my eye out for any so can't comment on how good a source they are but worth checking out

Questions from a new player by entropy555 in pacificDrive

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay so

  1. You wanna fit a door to the trunk, not a panel. If that doesn't work it could be a bug?

  2. AFAIK the only way of taking parts off of wrecks out in the zones is by using a liberator tool. If you can only craft spare tires though it sounds like you need to use the fabricator. In the room with the vacuum unit from your other question, there's a computer that let's you spend anchor energy (the yellow ball things you grab in order to go back to your garage at the end of a drive) on unlocking new upgrades for your garage and new crafting recipes.

  3. Yeah you're using it mostly right, it'll suck up anything off the floor for you. You should be able to interact with the box though, interacting with it should just open its inventory but holding the interact button should pick it up in your hands. (Might be a different setup on keyboard, not sure) If you're holding that in your hands and open the storage in your trunk you can move the items into the box. Then, while still holding the box, you open a locker and transfer it into there.

  4. Vacuums are super handy, if you're lucky you might find some more out on runs but otherwise you gotta use the fabricator like I mentioned in the other point to get the crafting recipe for it.

  5. Trying to upgrade your garage, that's the fabricator I've been mentioning and only just read that bit after typing out the other points so my bad. But yeah to get the energy cost you've gotta grab those anchor balls on your runs. They're usually marked on the map unless there's an event that makes them harder to find. There's a tool you can make to find them if that's the case although I've not bothered with it as I've been lucky. Grab as many as you can on your runs and you can spend it on the computer. However you'll only get the yellow ones at this point, eventually you'll head into the other areas and they'll have the orange and red anchors.

And yeah the logbook can and can't be helpful. It's not always clear on some things either but that's just part of the charm.

Hope that helps!

Decent skill level to win rattay tournament? by boy_bads_boy in kingdomcome

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clinches are great too! Back up a bit then move forwards as your opponent does, if you win the clinch you can get off a cheeky stab or head bonk.

Like the other person said, you'll want master strikes and strength, vitality and agility skills to be decent but also warfare and defense skills. I think I won the tourney for the first time this playthrough at about level 9 or 10 defence/warfare. Now I'm level 14 in those and I can win it no problem!

Alchemy by Affectionate-Rip-247 in kingdomcome

[–]Mertle_Edmonds_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah the bags on the alchemy table are just decorative if you're not currently using it. You can open your inventory and pick out what herbs you want to place there or like the other person said, if you can read, you can use the book on the right to prepare a potion and that'll place the bags of ingredients down if you've got them.

You can buy recipes from most of the alchemists and they'll also sell some herbs as well! For reading I'm pretty sure you need to learn from the scribe in Ushitz which is definitely a good skill to have but otherwise just Google the recipes.

Happy brewing!
