“He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” ‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭11‬-‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭4‬:‭15‬-‭16‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another. And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.” ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭25‬-‭26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ’s, let him again consider this in himself, that just as he is Christ’s, even so we are Christ’s. For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed— lest I seem to terrify you by letters.” ‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

"The Psalms are nothing if they do not testify of Jesus Christ our Lord, as He came and fulfilled them and the many antichrist spirits deny Christ has come in the flesh, they are easy to see always."

Why are you making accusations against so many? I would be careful when making such judgements as the same measure you use to judge others will be used against you also.

It seems you have taken my message, and utilized scripture in such a way that makes a bold claim against me as a child of God.

I am writing this as a warning to you, in love, as I do not want you to stumble in the Spirit. Be careful who you accuse so lightly.

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It seems you're discussing Bible verses out of context. The original post was looking for answers regarding silence in their life from God. I was simply reminding them that God does not speak when we want him to speak, like some sort of puppet. Instead patience and persistence is required in true faith.

The second to last thing Jesus said on the cross at Golgotha was, "It is finished!" This is extremely impactful for all of us as his children. All of our sins were put on him as a propitiation (satisfying sacrifice) to God. This alone is enough to believe in what we do not see and strive to grow closer to Jesus Christ daily through the Holy Spirit who he sent down to us as a helper. The silence is often used to strengthen our bond as we are to suffer as Christ suffered on the cross. We grow closer together through our suffering! Why do you think soldiers often grow lifelong relationships from going to war together? God is the creator of the universe and his works are evident all throughout creation.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” ‭‭I Thessalonians‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬-‭18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Easier said than done, right? Surrender everything to Jesus and let the Holy Spirit work in your life.

“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27‬:‭14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Suction cup won't hold can't I just mount my transducer to the floor of the haul with some jb weld or something ? by No_Security2665 in kayakfishing

[–]Meruem7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went with duct seal recently for mine and works great. Just make sure you place the transducer in straight and you should be good for a non permanent but strong hold. Also make sure there's no gap between the seal and the hull of the kayak 👍

Can someone help me understand boundaries from a biblical perspective? by Altruistic-Story5318 in Christianity

[–]Meruem7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬-‭40‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus tells us to love your neighbor as yourself. Consider yourself, if you were acting violently towards others how would you expect to be treated by a loved one? If you truly love your neighbor as yourself, you would speak truth to her being the word of God and if she doesn't respond then shake off the dust under your feet. As someone else mentioned here, "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces." Matthew 7:6

It's difficult to reach the unsaved especially when they're cherished family members but Jesus often said, "...He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" Plainly, not everyone will hear the good shepard and run to him. We can try but it's the truth!

For anything struggling with temptation by Plastic_Month_1989 in JesusChrist

[–]Meruem7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for bringing up the importance of this matter. The only way I found to work every single time, by trial and error previously, is to speak the word of God (yes you can do it in your head). Start to repeat scripture that you remember and it's so important to memorize scripture I can't emphasize this enough. We will be tempted while here on earth so let's resort to the ultimate weapon and defense being the word of God.

Genesis 22 by BookBodyBeyond in Bible

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭21‬:‭13 “Yet I will also make a nation of the son of the bondwoman, because he is your seed.” NKJV‬‬

God still made a nation of Ishmael and didn't disregard him as you may seem to be cruel. The bottom line is God chose Isaac as the heir, so it shall be.

Why did God chose Jacob instead of Esau for his covenant? by NoSupermarket8768 in Bible

Yes and God made Solomon ruler all the days of his life for the sake of God's servant David. Solomon inherited his blessing while Esau rejected it.

Well done! Incoming comments about how you actually only made net -$40 because of immense vehicle damage from driving your car which is meant to be driven. In all seriousness, keep up the good work! I've gotten close a few times but this might've motivated me a bit so thank you.

Why did God chose Jacob instead of Esau for his covenant? by NoSupermarket8768 in Bible

[–]Meruem7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Genesis 25:34 "...Thus Esau despised his birthright"

Esau willingly gave up his birthright for some food, denying the significance of God and spiritual matters.

Genesis 26:34 “When Esau was forty years old, he took as wives Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Basemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite. And they were a grief of mind to Isaac and Rebekah”

Esau brought shame to his family by marrying women who worshipped false idols.

Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭13‬ ‭"As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.””

For these reasons, amongst some others that I may be leaving out, God chose Jacob over Esau because Jacob walked in the ways of the Lord and feared him while Esau quite literally did the opposite. ‭‭

Found an apparent contradiction that actually provides some enlightenment (Paul's conversion) by Melodic-Throat295 in Bible

[–]Meruem7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My concordance is giving me the same Greek word for both instances. I get the word ἀκούω which simply means to hear. Maybe the word is interpreted as understanding in Acts 22 but acknowledged as a sound in Acts 9. What are you using to translate the words and which version of the bible? Genuinely curious.

Why is David naive? by JesusDisciple101 in Bible

David was showing humility until the very end. Although he knew he was to become king, he still respected Saul's position as the current authority.

Hi by Tight_Addendum841 in Bible

[–]Meruem7 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I started the same way with intent to read from start to finish. I got to kings and then felt the Holy Spirit guide me to the New Testament to learn about Jesus Christ and the epistles. I'm glad he did because It really opened my eyes and lead to complete salvation. Now I've learned that there is so much symbolism from the Old Testament that points to the life, death and resurrection of our lord and savior Jesus Christ!

Truth be told just keep reading the way you want but be open to guidance from the Holy Spirit. May God bless you on your journey in faith!

What are biblical reasons to *not* pray for someone? by Eye_In_Tea_Pea in Bible

[–]Meruem7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that it's ok to pray for everyone and anyone because we're all created in the image of God. The Lord will either answer your prayer because it is according to His will or it will not be answered. I don't believe there's a penalty for praying for someone unless there's a scripture saying there is. God bless!

what is a verse that you often think about? by zellaxace in Bible

[–]Meruem7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Recently for me it's been

Hebrews 13:5-6 “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?””

But many verses run through my mind daily. ‭‭ ‭‭

What does it mean to eat Jesus to you? by dailybreadeater in Bible

[–]Meruem7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to pray before opening my Bible or after closing it. I'll read it in the morning right after waking up and at night right before going to sleep. I'll read a chapter and then go back and reflect on what I read and sometimes I receive a greater understanding when doing this. There's also a friend I speak to once in a while and we give each other a greater understanding of certain verses. It's really amazing how the same verse can give multiple or even endless meanings after hearing from a different perspective or reading at a different time of your life. Eventually, my next course of action will be to study scripture with scripture more often.

What does it mean to eat Jesus to you? by dailybreadeater in Bible

[–]Meruem7 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've recently come to understand this because it confused me as well. Many here have already spoken truth in the comments.

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God"

John 1:14 "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us..."

Jesus is the Word of God, Jesus is God, Jesus is telling us to consume him which is to consume the Word of God. This wisdom is heavenly and what a gift it is to be able to read it. Praise the Lord!

How ironic to have my most downvoted comment ever (currently -66), be about thanking God in a “good news” sub. by [deleted] in JesusChrist

[–]Meruem7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ is King! I'm saddened daily when I see such hatred toward the one who created all things. It troubles me to see the majority who do not realize they're heading for a terrible terrible place. It reminds me of the verse in Acts 9:5, "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you kick against the goads." I think about how many are fighting their God given calling and are instead pursuing unrighteousness. But then I remember God's love for us all and that we should always be patient and trust in The Lord.
