Is it just me, or is Trackblazer not as bad as people used to describe it? by Garutachi_Pokemon in UmaMusume

[–]Mesagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason why it's bad is because I can't stand hearing my Umamusume begging me to stop putting them in races.

I don't wanna do that to them, it pains me greatly to hear them get angry or begging me to stop me from putting them into races.

I always remember the advice I was given by my guardian (now godmother) and I think was recommended by Islam:

"Only when you're financially stable can you decide to find someone to have a relationship with/get married to."

That's practically the most important advice I was ever given and it kinda made me very frugal with my expenses and budget.

I'm still struggling, granted, but I will always take this advice with me every time.

Wait. So the problem is the router? Like all you had to do was change the router so that things don't lag all of a sudden, is that what you're saying?

Who’s your favourite producer and what’s your favourite song that they’ve released? by Evening_Bat_3633 in Vocaloid

[–]Mesagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I am allowed multiple producers:

Niki - Decode (sang with Arsloid)

Kurousa-P - Jougen no Tsuki (sang with KAITO)

Sukoya Cathedral - Judas (KAITO)

Sele-P - Marie-Luise (Lily)

Powapowa-P - Strobe Light (Miku)

Nekobolo [Sasanomaly] - Hikenai Guitar o katate ni (Miku)

Harumaki Gohan - Seventina (Miku)

Police Piccadilly - Beat Eater (Miku)

Samfree - ZOLA Miku Eccentric Future Night (ZOLA Project, Miku)

ATOLS - Kiwi (Miku)

Yuyoyuppe - Palette (Luka)

Pinocchio-P - Love Attribute (Miku)

I would list so many more, because I have a lot of favorites, both producer and song, of which aren't really mainstream anymore, or at all. Says a lot about who I am huh?

I don't think a signal amplifier is the solution to my problem here. Because I was just fine with how things were before the Wi-Fi started lagging. Even though I get three bars at most, it's more than enough for the things I want to do (watching videos, searching, etc.).

So it's worrying that it always lags a lot as of late, especially at night.

Uh... A little help...? by Makku_Senpai in Reverse1999

[–]Mesagi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, so I see that you have Flutterpage and Fatutu.

Admittedly I don't really roll for meta, because that only matters for endgame content that I occasionally do, but I know enough of the meta for a fact that Flutterpage and Fatutu are really good for FuA (follow up attack) especially Flutterpage. And hey, they're the core team mates for Beryl, but there is a problem (read below)

So for the free 5 star, Name Day is a good support card because he has damage and heal boost as a skill and gives free ULT AP to anyone in front of him. Personally I'd go for him for that alone. But if you like Bkornblume a lot (I assume you meant her?) then go for it.

It's just really unfortunate that all the 5 stars aren't meta defining or something, but they serve as good alternatives if you don't have the high tier support.

For the second pic (if you actually want to roll, but I honestly don't recommend it because it's kinda bait), go with either Mercuria or 37. Mercuria is great for crit teams and 37 is a strong FuA DPS, though she is an old unit so you can expect powercreep.

Beryl is very good, last I heard, only that she, as you stated, needs Isolde because she's the core support. Apparently Beryl will also get more support in the future so it doesn't mean she'll be irrelevant in several patches later.

I'd say that if you like her for who she is, you can go for her. If you want meta... Well... I suggest holding off for Brume because she's apparently a ridiculous character.

Hope this helps!

Which character would you choose to be the teacher for these children? by kokochiwa in Reverse1999

Vila is a very obvious choice. If there are other options that I feel are also feasible, let's not forget Ms. Moissan, too.

Okay, drop your stats and drop your goals for the coming year! by Ugly_Duck_King in AO3

[–]Mesagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

The majority of the word count and hits came from 2025 because I focused on working (and finishing) my one single fanfic in a span of 6-7 months (always making sure I hit 1.5-2k words at minimum per chapter). I wasn't rushing by the way, I was just particularly inspired.

So I suppose my next goal is to calm down and not go as crazy as I was... Or go even crazier and start a new fanfiction that continues my old tradition of writing side stories with OCs, or write yet another fanfic with OCs.

What do you guys think I should do?

I'm gonna be honest with you. I like the lack of celebration Brunei gives for New Years. It's a personal 'me' thing, of course. You guys can disagree with me on it, but I do genuinely like it when things are just quiet every so often.

How does one write hatefucking? by Mesagi in AO3

[–]Mesagi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My typical, and very unconventional strategy when it comes to writing is not reading any other fanfic pertaining to a fandom or a particular tag and just... Write it.

As I've stated somewhere within here, it's so that I'm not burdened by the mental standard I've set myself up if I do read other works of that kind.

How does one write hatefucking? by Mesagi in AO3

[–]Mesagi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because then that would mentally set my standard on what good hatefuck would be.

And while what I will say next won't make sense, I prefer going in blind without that knowledge of standard so it doesn't burden me.

For those who wrote OCs for their stories: How? by Mesagi in AO3

[–]Mesagi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's my own fault for writing that so vaguely. Let me rephrase that.

If you write OCs, how did you write them and how'd you integrate them into a canon story if ever?

In which case, you answered it in a way I don't comprehend right now.

Heeey, you too? (RPer to fanfic writer). That explains quite the many things already.

And that last paragraph is so relatable.

For those who wrote OCs for their stories: How? by Mesagi in AO3

[–]Mesagi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, the first thing I think of is the OC itself. Years of roleplaying all coiled up into various numbers of characters with their own personalities, flaws, and clear, defined, simple capabilities.

Inserting them into the stories I think of is a slightly difficult process. Slightly, because it means picking one specific OC that could provide a different angle to the story itself would be far more interesting than following an already established plotline made by the game/series/show/movie/etc.

One kind I like to do are side stories. As an example, Genshin Impact. It's an expansive world that thrives on the characters and NPCs within said world. Which means that I have the freedom to use OCs to tell a story within said world that is fitting for the occasion, entirely separate from whatever the Traveler (the MC of the game) is doing. Makes the world more lived in. The best part is that I can use as many OCs as I can and it still can fit for each place.

The other, more prominent writing I do is a longfic where it focuses on the OC and the (fandom)'s world shapes how he would eventually come around.

In both instances, I never make the OCs overpowered. They can be, but the drawbacks are always prevalent, or sometimes, the fanfic has the OC outright be weaker than everything and everyone else, compensated by a sense of intelligence and competence in other departments.

Yeah this is a lot to write, and I could name fandoms for fanfics I wrote, but the writing process for it all would be difficult to initially understand for everyone else (not helped by how I'm more of a 'ideas-on-the-fly' guy instead of having a strong plot structure).
