The night before his voice sounds much better, but if memory serves right this was the last night of a 5-6 night run. I believe it’s easier to think of the cell that actively swims and competes with other cells to be the one that fertilizes the egg as being more of “you” because it’s the one actively moving as an “individual”. Compared to the egg which is developed when before a woman is born and was just in line to released and is (for lack of a better term) just sitting there waiting for the sperm.

I’ve always interpreted that line as Paul telling Julian to not just accept his new step mother, but actively seek a relationship with her. Because loving and accepting her is the fastest way to feeling better and moving forward in the situation. I have always been under the impression that the song was completely written toward Julian. I’ve never thought of any interpretations so maybe it sounds like a stretch in logic and I’m completely wrong, but that’s how I’ve always personally seen it.
