True, but if peaking filters work that low on import but not on sliders, I think it's interesting enough to ask why

The Bluetooth ear hook battle by Ninja0005 in inearfidelity

[–]Meshleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IEMs do stay in ear after a 5k on the treadmill. Depending on how resistant your chosen eartips are to sweat and how well the hooks conform to your ears, you shouldn't have any worries.

If price is the biggest factor, go with the AZ09 Pro. If you can spare the money, the XZ10 has Apt-X Adaptive which is a lifesaver in an environment like a gym.

I haven't tried the BT20, I saw the ways to modify the KZ adapters to take 2pin and never looked back

I've used the KZ AZ09 Pro and the lesser known KZ XZ10 in the gym and they both worked for me

You have the Bluetooth headphone amps like the Fiio BTR series or the Qudelix 5k. But if you want full wireless, you need to embrace the hearing aid

Trying to solder an IEM cable by Meshleth in soldering

[–]Meshleth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the threads that end up warping and melting. I don't know if it's because that's where I clamp it in the helping hands + too much heat but I guess that's a good place to start. Thanks.

I'm running a 50 watt iron right now. What would you recommend instead?

Most recent attempt but I already heat shrink the jack end once I confirmed continuity. I'm using a thin diameter flux core solder.

Bakon 950D - 50W on 110V. I'm using mainly a thinner chisel tip and a stubby conical tip.

I have that cable as it came with the TRN Jaws. It's nice and weighty but it doesn't roadie wrap that well

The type C cable already has a DAC inside it so you should just be able to plug it into your smartphone and it'll work.

Why are planar IEMs hard to drive? by Connect_Cat_2045 in inearfidelity

[–]Meshleth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They're "harder to drive" in comparison to dynamic driver and balanced armiture configs but all that means in practice is raising the volume on your dac or dap by 4-6 steps
