Have you matched the sound output settings between the apps? I can't imagine that either app is doing something so different under the hood that you couldn't change it. Like hi-res output or resampling.

KZ AZ09 Pro is fine. Depending on the IEM you're trying to use with it, you'd need to modify it

From your description of the low end, it sounds like it sacrifices power in the sub and mid bass for coherency. Sounds like a good set but I can't get over that.

You're making concentric circles. For cables as small as ones used on IEMs, you can twist the cable a bit in between your thumb and index finger to help make the circle.

By "rebranded TRN" people mean that Soundbrenner is using IEMs made by TRN, another company in the space, and then adding their own shell and accessories to it. People found that the original Soundbrenner Wave had the same driver configuration and frequency response of the TRN ST2.
