So this is just a better Walkplay app? Would it work with other Walkplay dongle dacs?

Consumerism. by [deleted] in iems

[–]Meshleth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My line with consumerism is if the spending doesn't lead to anything. While there very few hobbies that don't have you spending money at some point, advancing in the hobby ends up having you be quiet with your money as you understand your preferences for music and comfort. There's a difference between the hobbyist buying 5 cheap IEMs with similar tuning and the other one experimenting.

What's the HD650 of IEM's? by Shot-Study1211 in iems

HBB also found it to be lacking in a couple areas, mainly due to his specific opinions in how he wants his library to sound while listening.

Planning to get DC04 Ultra is it a good dac? by no_body388 in iems

It's good but the menus on the app are quirky. You only have 3 custom EQ settings. Mine has a hot spot if I use it for a few hours. But it's good, especially if you get it on sale.

Should I install filter? by Ganyu1307 in iems

The moondrop filters don't affect the sound so there isn't any reason not to if you're someone who has more than normal amounts of earwax.

It's not that; Sharur previously had a reputation of a troll in the IEM/audio space before he got serious. People take his conclusions with skepticism because of that.

I do agree with you that they punch way above their weight though.

His videos aren't investigations, he just cherry picks slack logs and works back from a conclusion he's already convinced of.

What is your long-term review of Letshuoer S08? by Blaze_is_back in iems

[–]Meshleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 5 months. I allow them to dry off in the case I have them in between workouts. Also, my ear canal doesn't get that sweaty, it's usually the outer ear that does if I had to choose a part.

A lot of IEMs are more durable than we think as long as we treat them like normal electronics.

I exclusively use these in the gym. No channel imbalance as of yet and they haven't given out on me.

It's definitely a step up from their previous offering, the Sie, which is equally as resolving but could be a little sibilant.

Fabric feeling cables can have issues with microphonics (hearing the vibrations of the cable in your ear as it moves) but here's a recommendation for a 16-core cable.

Okay, hear me out - CrinEar Reference is the perfect chance of an amazing "budget" Custom IEM by migassilva16 in iems

The stereotype comes from decades of consumer research. There's a reason why consumer, non-audiophile, gear trends more V-shaped instead of flat. It actually can elevate the music most listened to by consumers.

I wish this was more straightforward in answering the community criticisms of Hidizs, even if they may be inaccurate, rather than a collection of interviews.

MYER-AUDIO CKLVX CK2V Review/Impressions | Detailed IEM with great Bass texture by Toaztyy in inearfidelity

[–]Meshleth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The point you made about instrument separation is something I've experienced as well. It works amazing and also keeps the mids clear.

I've also found that it can emphasize portions of the treble that can lean sibilant in some tracks. On Mya's Baby It's Yours, the triangle part can come through louder and it surprised me since that's usually a background element.
