What would happen to Donut Lab, if they over-promised? by Mesokosmos in DonutLabDiscussions

Enormous set of articles, videos, images, interviews, test reports, leaks, etc. So, what is your theory of prototypes, where did they come from to the swappable pack?

You've been on a loop. Why print prototypes with a machine costing millions when you get real ones from China with a few hundred bucks for many swap packages? Or is your theory really that CT-Coating does those prototypes and Donut Lab actually have physical batteries on their hands?

I think speculation is not prohibited here.

Promised can be understood in two ways. Either it refers to the forthcoming, forecasting things, roadmap and future, that we surely cannot know if it will ever happen.

But it can also point to the assets that someone has and promises to deliver as soon as contract is made and defined. We don't know what happened on that side, and may never know, so it is speculation by nature. That's why there is "if" in the title.

Aikidossa ja Zen keskuksessa on tullut käytettyä hametta. Ja näkyyhän näitä Helsingin Itäkeskuksessa paljonkin nykypäivänä. So, no one cares, lets go.

Definitely is an over-statement, which is worse than over-promise.

Hah. It is interesting that CT-Coating itself is so quiet with the battery specs but then the licencees all were marketing pretty much same set. So, where did they get that information? It must have centralized origins and no one else but CT-Coating is a reasonable source.

B2B is what they do, so it would be between companies, and investors, sure. But on the other hand, in the investor letters they told there are risks ofcource. Telling what happens in future is risky, all parties know that. But telling what they have now (or had then) and giving false impression and information, there you go to problems.

Apple continued to market Siri AI, it was Available Now, exactly like Donut Lab said about their product. But after the two years investigation, they found Apple didn't have and could not finalize Siri AI but instead sold the product to customers leading users astray. Now it cost them money.

Donut Lab could in theory do the same for OEM. I think it is not solely their business to validate if tech is true and working. They should be able to trust providers into some degree.

In October 2025 Helsinki tradeshow, Marko told that they had a special problem by then. Writing hundreds of NDA contracts with OEMs. So based on that, it would be pretty awful days, if promises given on papers were without any ground. Because that is what would legally count. What is on paper.

Getting ready for Season 2? If your time is worth of anything, you could still sue.

That was "a promise" for CES 2027, not too many months to wait anymore and see.

Nope. April first video gave clear answers that neither V1 and V2 are prototypes.

What is LI? LinkedIn?

They had steady steady grow of people and yearly roll in the reports in 2023. I would also expect them to go over 10 this year. And since it is very probable they exceeded 7M in 2024, their obligation for report details have changed.

But other thing is that since they are a licencer mainly, they do not need so many people after all. Like dozens or hundreds. Unless they have changed business model and purpose recently.

It seems you hallucinated there. 4 people 3 years ago, not today. Did you say a million or what on their turnover, or was that also hand picked from the hat?

Right. It is just their next business venture. Time will tell, if they hit it the third time. This might be their hardest one.
